Seasholtz leads a strong day for Radnor

Radnor High’s Keara Seasholtz won first place in the 800-meter dash at Saturday’s Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association meet at Lehigh University.

Seasholtz bested the competition with a time of 2:17.30. Fellow Raiders Lucy Manning and Lucy Henkel also had good showings in their respect races. In the 200-meter dash, Manning placed 12th in 27.54 seconds, while Henkel took seventh place in the 400 with a time of 1:01.75.

Elsewhere, Ridley’s Brianna Foster put forth a spectacular performance in the 60-meter dash. Foster sprinted to a second-place time of 7.86 seconds. Her teammate, Sydney Neal, claimed 14th place in the 400 meters (1:05.42).

Boys Track

Penn Wood took advantage of Friday’s Track and Field Coaches Association of Greater Philadelphia Last Chance Meet, getting a relay and

400 runner Timmy Odunjo state cuts amid a slew of Meet of Champions times.

Odunjo, last year’s Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year, ran 51.65 in the 400 meters to book a states trip and finish second. The Penn Wood 4 x 400 relay won the event in

3:29.43 to punch a states ticket. Penn Wood’s

4 x 800 is bound for the MOC, finishing fifth, while Jordin Jones (triple jump) and Luckie Tan (400) also made the MOC.

Two other state-qualifying times were put down by Delco relays, with Academy Park

(8:17.43) finishing third in the 4 x 800 and Upper Darby (1:33.88) taking fourth in the 4 x 200.

The only Delco individual winner was Academy Park’s Ian Francis, who claimed the

200-meter dash in an MOC time of 23.42. He was second in the 60-meter dash, again in MOC time.

Interboro’s Justin Robinson finished four one-thousandths of a second shy of the 60-meter hurdles crown in 8.56, but he qualified for states. Canaan Curry of Haverford just missed states in third in the hurdles, but he got there while finishing fourth in the 400.

Haverford’s Collin Ney booked MOC berths in the 200 and the long jump, as did teammates Chasen Wint in the shot put and Liam Creeley in the 60 dash. Other MOC berths included Upper Darby’s Sydney Turner and Chester’s Abdul Griggs in the 400, Chichester’s Marquise Fields in the 200 and Radnor’s Chris Belz in the 800.

At the PTFCA meet at Lehigh University, Frank Brown of Radnor topped the field with a winning time of 4:27.34 in the mile run. Radnor’s Owen Leonard finished ninth in the 800

(2:02.48), while Luke O’Malley was 14th in the

400 (2:02.48).
