Facial Rejuvenation is opening in Newtown Square
NEWTOWN » Eileen Mielcarek has glowing, youthful-looking skin – and the expertise and knowledge of how to keep it that way. Now she wants to share her secrets with others.
The certified surgical room nurse and nationally certified nurse educator has launched a professional medical facial aesthetics career to help others benefit from decades of working to make the area above the neck look good, feel good and radiate optimum health.
Mielcarek is founder and owner of Facial Rejuvenation in Newtown Square. The facial aesthetics medspa opened in February and is the culmination of Mielcarek’s lifelong passion to establish a comprehensive wellness center for medical facial aesthetics.
As a University of Pennsylvania trained nurse, Mielcarek worked as an operating room nurse, first at Penn and then at Riddle Hospital. Her specialty was the face and all areas above the neck.
Eileen and her late husband, Dr. Leon Mielcarek Jr., a University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute chief resident and eye surgeon, co-founded Mielcarek Eye Center in Media in 1978 and Media Eye Works Optical Shop on State Street in Media in 1992. Always pursuing her passion for facial health, Mielcarek operated a small med spa inside the optical shop where she would perform select facial rejuvenation services.
After her beloved husband passed away suddenly in 2016, Mielcarek, assisted by her daughter Lacey, a master-trained optician, continued to operate Media Eye Works until last year when they sold the 28-year-old business.
Lacey pursued a business opportunity in New York and Eileen decided to make her lifelong dream into a reality.
The surgical nurse turned healthcare entrepreneur, Mielcarek decided to put all of her passion and energy into the field where she always felt she belonged – facial rejuvenation. She named her new business just that.
“I’ve always loved the face,” the professional facial expert smiled. “I never let go of my dream and decided it was time to finally realize it.”
Mielcarek opened Facial Rejuvenation so she can be directly involved and hands-on in all aspects of client and patient care. The business shares the building at 4631 West Chester Pike with True Beauty Skincare and Makeup Studio, operated by owner/esthetician Maureen Sortino. Unfortunately, not long after opening, the coronavirus pandemic struck. The business is closed under Gov. Tom Wolf’s order on non-life-sustaining business. She will reopen when the ban is lifted.
Initially, Mielcarek offers every new patient a free pre-treatment consultation to assess what treatments are right for them as an individual.
“I offer a highly personalized, integrative and comprehensive approach to anti-aging and restorative skin care,” Mielcarek explained. “We make every patient our highest priority.”
According to Mielcarek, all great facial rejuvenation results start with a detailed assessment, an understanding of what an individual wants to accomplish and a plan. The surgical nurse says it is her decades of experience and her skills that set her apart from the others in this profession.
“I always sit down with the person who comes in for the initial free first visit to Facial Rejuvenation,” Mielcarek explains. “How the in-depth consultation evolves depends on what their facial aesthetic concerns and goals are and the types of procedures that they are seeking. I do a skin consult, checking for sun damage and signs of aging. I also work with a person’s budget and can tailor facial enhancements to work with any budget.”
Facial Rejuvenation offers Facial Medspa services and non-surgical face lifts using PDO Threading, Microneedling, Custom Peels, Radiofrequency, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, the Obagi Skin Transformation System, Latisse, vitamin therapy and more.
“I only do things that can get good results,” Mielcarek shared. “I tell the truth. Facial Rejuvenation lets a person avoid a facelift and look good. There’s no doubt that if you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside!”
Mielcarek is a certified nurse injector for facial injectables as well as being certified in a variety of medical aesthetic facial treatments. One of the most popular cosmetic treatments nationwide is the use of injectable neuromodulators such as Botox and fillers such as Juvederm to fight wrinkles and rejuvenate the face’s appearance. Achieving standout results from the use of these injections requires a clear knowledge and understanding of the face’s complex anatomy in depth. Both Botox® and facial fillers are effective methods of rectifying signs of aging, she said.
“Every client will find the Facial Rejuvenation experience to be a professional, welcoming and serene environment with exceptional experiences each and every time,” the owner said. “Each visit will be personalized for them and tailored with a custom plan of action to meet their medical and aesthetic goals and yield noticeable, positive results. I spend time, getting to know each patient. My reward comes when I see a noticeable difference in their face and the patient is genuinely delighted with the results.”
The facial specialist uses PCA Skin and Alastin clinical products, which she also sells at her medical spa.
A lifelong Delaware County resident, Mielcarek grew up in Wallingford and currently lives in Glen Mills. The former competitive diver is the mother of three daughters, Lori DeRose, Linda Graham and Lacey Mielcarek and five grandchildren. The entrepreneur enjoys cooking classes and golfing in her spare time, as well as traveling and spending time with her family. She recently returned from a trip to Israel with members of her parish, St. Mary Magdalen in Upper Providence.
“I want those I meet to know I am a woman who prevailed,” commented Mielcarek. “After all the sadness I experienced through the sudden death of my husband in 2016, and having to sell the 40-year-old business that we built together, I reinvented myself, and followed my passion, as the owner of Facial Rejuvenation. Now, I am inspired each and every day by my patients because of the satisfaction they show following their services here.”
