UPPER DARBY » Farrell’s Florist, 421 Burmont Road, Drexel Hill, has been showing gratitude to health care workers on the front line by sending spring tulips.

Owned and operated by Tim Farrell, AAF, AIFD and PFCI, Farrell’s Florist has been bringing beautiful flowers to Delaware County for more than 30 years. So far, Tim Farrell, helped by his daughter Katie Farrell, has sent two to three dozen tulip arrangements to Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital and Lankenau Hospital. The next stop on his kindness route of gratitude is Riddle Hospital.

“We are so thankful for all of health care workers on the front line,” the owner said. “We will be dropping these flowers off to more local hospitals in Delaware County to hopefully bring a smile to someone’s day.” For more information on Farrell’s Florist, call 610-623-2400.

Families reward Garnet Valley teachers with cupcakes

CHESTER HEIGHTS — Cake a Difference owner Laurie Moyer is currently running a program for the teachers, grades K-12 in Garnet Valley School District, to show appreciation for all that teachers do. With the transition to home schooling, the organization recognizes the difficulties of teachers who have had to change from the classroom to online learning.

The Cake a Difference program allows for students and parents to send their teachers a “virtual cupcake” and a message of gratitude for all the work they are putting into making online learning work. Then, the teachers will receive a real cupcake from the student when school is back in session. The cupcakes and virtual cupcakes are being donated by Cake a Difference in Chester Heights, but the families are being encouraged to donate to the school district’s gift card fund for families in need (GV-CTC).

Cake a Difference is a home-based bakery committed to caking a difference in the community through fundraisers and other programs. Providence Animal Center donates PPE supplies to Wallingford’s ManorCare nursing home

UPPER PROVIDENCE— Providence Animal Center donated personal protection equipment and offered some puppy love to Wallingford’s ManorCare nursing home staff and residents on Monday.

Under the new restrictions of providing only essential medical care, Providence Animal Center’s veterinary services have scaled back to only life-sustaining services, and therefore the regular amount of supplies are not currently needed. The Shrimp Puppies, a litter of five born this year on Leap Day, visited the nursing home staff outside and residents through their windows. Animal lovers can visit Providence Animal Center’s social media pages to see the puppies in action. The puppies will be available for adoption in the coming weeks.
