Energy Transfer Partners donates $25G tent to Delco first responders
The Delaware County Major Incident Response Team, activated due to the pandemic, received some shelter this week.
Through Energy Transfer Partners donation, the team was the recipient of a $25,000 portable tent to serve as a shelter for the officers working 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
Chester Township police tweeted pictures of the tent, adding, “Thank you @EnergyTransfer for Donating to the Delaware County Major Incident Response Team. That team has been operational 24/7 since 12 March handling all Law Enforcement COVID events.”
The Delaware County
Police Chiefs Association explained that the MIRT was activated because of a significant increase in demand for services and responses to hazardous and biological events.
“The MIRT team supports our police, firefighters, medical providers and the public through advanced on-scene remediation and hazard decontamination,” they tweeted. “As a 24/7 response unit staffed by local police, our team was in need of a portable shelter and support equipment. @Energy Transfer graciously donated a $25,000 shelter that will help us protect the health and safety of our community during this time of extreme crisis.”
Company officials spoke to first responders’ importance.

First responders are often first in line to assist and assess a patient before they even get to the hospital. Supporting Delaware County’s first responders is always a top priority, and especially now.”
