How to get around on Delco’s roads this week

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is planning daytime and nighttime single- and double-lane closures on Interstate 95 this week between the U.S.

322 Interchange and the Delaware state line for various construction activities under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair 15 structures on more than 11 miles of the interstate in Lower Chichester, Upper Chichester, Chester, Ridley, Tinicum, the City of Chester, Upland and Ridley. The work schedule is:

• Tuesday, May 26, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., a double right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95;

• Wednesday, May 27, and Saturday, May

30, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., a single right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95;

• Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., a double right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95;

• Thursday, May 28, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., a single right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95; and

• Saturday, May 30, from 6 p.m. to 11 a.m., a double right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95.

Aqua Pennsylvania is also planning weekday lane restrictions with flagging on Middletown Road between Gradyville Road and Heather Knoll Lane, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Edgmont through July 31 for water main installations.

Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on Lancaster Avenue between County Line Road and Radnor Chester Road in Radnor from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 26 through May 30 for milling and paving operations.

Construction activities continue this week on the project to replace the bridge that carries Palmer’s Mill Road over the

Springton Reservoir in Upper Providence and Marple.

Palmer’s Mill Road will be reduced to a single lane with flagging between Lakeview Drive and Newtown Street Road weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of October.

WVPP Town Center LP is planning a single lane closure weekdays on Baltimore Pike between Valley Road and Pennell Road in Middletown, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 13 through May 29 for paving operations.

Aqua Pennsylvania is planning lane closures with flagging on West Chester Pike between Media Line Road and Sproul Road in Marple weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through early July for water main installation.
