Please consider the messages you are choosing for Sound Off. Why are you including name calling and bullying messages and often the same messages over and over? Also since when were long rants acceptable? It’s not a Sound Off when people cannot express their opinions off without calling names and bullying.

Christine Flowers in her latest opinion talks about taking away people’s independent thought and taking away a man’s ability to think. Well, the people on the right have really surrendered their independent thought and their ability to think because they blindly believed every lie they’re told by Trump, which has reached over 19,000. They really believe every lie they’re told by entities like Fox News. They do not seek out the truth. They do not care about independent thought. They do not care about their ability to think.

China has another lock down in effect for the virus! I hope this isn’t the predicted second wave coming our way. There has been a lot of talk. It doesn’t seem to matter that much to all and I understand that. We been locked down in solitary, and just need a break, a vacation! Everyone wants to get up and running again and get back to normal. All of this unrest going on in the world right now with this virus, police, rioting, killings and politics. Is this the “Perfect Storm Rising” movie? We better be ready when we get hit with these waves. We need face masks, hand sanitizer and bulletproof vests and I think the best thing is common sense. ARMY VS. THE GUARD
Yeah, the person that sounded off “Rights and Wrongs:” You got it wrong. Trump wouldn’t be sending in the National Guard. He’d be sending in regular Army troops. The National Guard is usually sent in by the governor of the state. They’re probably in there already now, anyway. But it’s the regular Army that Trump wants to use and in the National Guard goes in like two emergencies at a time. They’re in Philly right now. They’re all over the place because the National Guard is the first thing that goes in before the regular Army. You get it, right? I don’t like Trump either, but if you’re going to Sound Off make sure you get your facts straight.

Older citizens and some people who have arthritis have difficulties pumping their own gas, particularly in bad weather. Are there any gas stations in Delaware County that will pump your gas for you? Seniors need help.

I’m reading the paper on a daily basis. I usually try to answer as many of the trivia questions that you present with each day. On in Sunday, June 14, one of the question was about who was the one and only divorced president of the United States. The answer, of course was Ronald Reagan, that you gave but what about the current obnoxious guy that’s in the office right now? How many times has he been divorced? I’m willing to bet that his current wife is hoping that he will not get re-elected so that she can walk, Reagan wasn’t the only one.

TIME TO RAISE WAGES
I think it’s good that corporations are giving either directly or indirectly to the Black Lives Matter movement. The pessimist in me says it comes out of their advertising budget. I hope I’m wrong. Injustice is just that … injustice. Justice can’t be and shouldn’t be denied to anyone. I do however think that corporations would make more of a difference socially, financially, and politically if they paid a living wage and provided benefits to their employees. Aren’t they just perpetuating a historical system of haves-and-havenots by forcing low-wage employees to try to survive instead of thrive? Seriously … I’d be willing to pay more for my kibble if it will allow for a better society for all. Raise a person’s income and you raise the person. A person’s spirit can’t help but benefit from the lighter burden. Just a thought.
