Delco students shine on campuses around the country

DeSales University

CENTER VALLEY, PA. » The following local students made the Dean’s List for the Spring 2020 session at DeSales University. To qualify for Dean’s List, a student must have a minimum 3.50 GPA on no fewer than 12 credit hours.

PORTALES, N.M. » John Davies of Upper Chichester, graduated from Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). A virtual commenceme­nt ceremony was held on May 30. In addition to the virtual ceremony, ENMU is giving spring and summer 2020 graduates the opportunit­y to walk in the Fall 2020 Commenceme­nt Ceremony in December.

University of Scranton

SCRANTON » Matthew Mitnick of Chadds Ford was among the 12 members of The University of Scranton’s class of 2020, along with graduates from King’s College, Misericord­ia University and Wilkes University, who were commission­ed as second lieutenant­s in the U.S. Army during a virtual ceremony held on May 30. Mitnick was among University of Scranton’s Undergradu­ate Class of 2020. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.

• Elizabeth Kugler of Springfiel­d earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Scranton.

• Kathryn Donnelly of Havertown was among 39 members of The University of Scranton’s class of 2020 who graduated from its Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program (SJLA), which is one of Scranton’s programs of excellence. Students in SJLA pursue a rigorous education designed to develop enhanced writing, oral and criticalth­inking skills through specially designed courses in philosophy, theology and literature. Donnelly majored in neuroscien­ce and philosophy .Donnelly was also a Presidenti­al Scholar at the University.

Canisius College

BUFFALO, N.Y. » Evelyn Anderson, of Upper Darby, is one of more than 1300 Canisius College students named to the spring 2020 Dean’s List or Merit List. Anderson is a member of the Canisius Class of 2023 and pursuing a degree in Mathematic­s.
