Albright College
READING » Gillian Umstead of Thornton has been named to the spring 2020 Dean’s List at Albright College. Umstead earned this honor regardless of all classes transitioning online after Spring Break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A graduate of Garnet Valley High School, Umstead studied Business Administration: Marketing with a minor in Photography during the spring semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, Albright students must earn a GPA of 3.75 or better while taking a minimum of three letter-graded courses during a semester.
Bloomsburg University
BLOOMSBURG, PA. » Bloomsburg University students Maxwell Brown of Media, a member of the men’s soccer team, Abby Kalish of Garnet Valley, a member of the women’s lacrosse team, and Haley Williams of Garnet Valley, a member of the women’s lacrosse team, were all named PSAC Scholar-Athletes.
Bloomsburg University’s 208 student-athletes, a school record, were recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athletes for the 2019-20 academic year. The 208 Huskies join a PSAC-record 3,762 studentathletes from the league’s 18 institutions being named to the list.
In order to earn PSAC Scholar-Athlete recognition, each student-athlete must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.25 throughout the year.
Atlantic Cape Community College
MAYS LANDING, N.J. » Jessica Joyce, of Upper Chichester, graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College with an Associate in Science Degree in Health Science .
With input from students, faculty, and staff, the College designed a virtual graduation, which took place on June 11 through YouTube, Facebook, and on Atlantic Cape’s website. Over 700 graduates received their degree in a unique ceremony which included all the pomp and circumstance of a traditional ceremony with keynote speakers, graduate name announcements, and a dedicated slide for each graduate.
In addition to having a virtual ceremony due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Class that graduates in June is invited to walk with the fall graduates in a traditional Commencement on December 5, at Harrah’s Atlantic City. For more information, visit atlantic.edu/ graduation.
