So that’s what it’s come to for you Democrats, huh? It’s the COVID-19 pandemic, that Trump likes to play golf and we want to see his tax returns. So what you got left? About it, isn’t it? Call Bob Mueller, Michael Avenatti and all the rest when you need them. You lose.

BE VERY AFRAID

It’s quite obvious what Trump is doing, sending people into Portland and threatening to do it to other cities. He’s trying to gin up his flagging poll numbers by trying to instill fear in Americans. But the only thing Americans fear in this country except for his cult members are four more years of him in office. Is it his total corruption that is what Americans are afraid of. As a matter of fact, there was an item in the news about a 79-year-old woman in Portland who went down to the protesters despite the coronavirus risks because she said she cannot take this kind of fascism in our country.

WHAT A WORLD

Amazing just heard about the stimulus package that running out for people who are out of work. I work in a supermarket and we have a help wanted sign in out window. We get applicants but then many times they say, “I can do better staying home.” I have worked all my life, raised three kids and moved to the burbs. We went on modest vacations and never had a new car so yes, it was tough. Point is it there are jobs and you can take care of your family. Yes, some people may need help but many abuse it. There should be some criteria to get the stimulus.

POTA

CLUELESS CHRISSIE

I appreciated your editorial “Back to school planning has no easy answers” and the letter you printed from Rev. Robinson in this Sunday’s paper. These articles provided reasoned, cautious arguments based on medical advice and lessons learned for the safe, gradual re-opening of schools. (Informative and thoughtful.) They stand in sharp contrast to the opinion column of Ms. Christine Flowers. She cited social media, her own limited experiences in private schools and the dictates of the politicians she follows to blindly demand that teachers Immediately return to school, while ignoring the concerns Rev. Robinson lists in detail or dismissing them as cowardly or politically motivated. (Muddled and irrational.)

BILL

NOT-SO-’FEISTY’ FLOWERS

Christine Flowers’ piece about teachers needing to return to the classroom this fall alleges that teachers are “complaining” about physically going back to work. Teachers are more than complaining. Teachers are outraged at the unsafe situation that we are facing right now. The suggestion that we should love students and this profession enough to risk our students’, colleagues’, and families’ lives to go back into poorly ventilated buildings where kids will undoubtedly struggle with safety guidelines is absurd. I value my students and their families enough to know that returning in the fall is unsafe. And I value my family over my career because I am a human being. Flowers’ article is offensive (by design). She describes herself as “feisty” in her online interview about why she got fired from the Inquirer. Flowers is not feisty. She is selfish, irresponsible, and dangerous. This piece is an embarrassment to the Delco Times.

LISTEN UP

I am so tired of ignorant people speaking about things they don’t understand. Let me school you. Yes, the black community does care about black-onblack crime. The difference is that those perpetrators are not going to skate simply because they are white or a policeman or wealthy. Most of those senseless killings are attributed to drugs and guns which are not shipped or airlifted into those communities by the residents. No, they are sent in by filthy rich drug traffickers.

RNB

GET IT RIGHT

I’m in agreement with “How Stupid We Are” in Sunday’s Sound Off. People are not wearing their masks incorrectly. They got their noses hanging out all the time. Even some of the workers in the store are bad. I am for one. I’m tired of it. So let’s get with it, people. Wear your masks correctly, you know the way to do it.
