Fire company receives $20G from Energy Transfer Partners
UPPER CHICHESTER » Ogden Fire Co. No. 1 formally accepted a grant of $20,000 from Energy Transfer, which aided in the purchase of equipment to enhance the department’s firefighting capabilities.
“Three years ago, Energy Transfer provided a grant for us to purchase multiple sets of personal protective equipment and several sections of fire hose, which has kept our men and women safe and enhanced our rescue capabilities,” Ogden Fire Co. President Bill Robinson said. “With this additional grant, we were able to further improve our emergency response capabilities by acquiring firefighting equipment for our new fire engine.”
“The generosity of Energy Transfer is especially welcomed and needed at this time due to the loss of revenue as a result of COVID-19. We hope that the citizens generously respond to our current fund drive as well,” he continued.
Fire Chief Craig Small was also grateful.
“The fire service has at times been deemed resistant to change; however, many firefighters are embracing the many technological advancements that will ultimately help keep them safer on the fire ground,” he said. “This donation will purchase some of the newest technological advanced tools for our new engine.”
The Energy Transfer First Responder Fund provides grants to help further the primary mission of first responder organizations, including local fire departments; emergency medical services; county emergency management agencies; county, regional and local police departments; and other eligible agencies. Grants are determined based on a competitive application and review process, and written applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the following cycle.

We look forward to working together for years to come and assisting with equipment upgrades, trainings and more.”
Since 1923, Ogden Fire Co. No. 1 has been an allvolunteer fire company. It is one of three volunteer fire departments serving Upper Chichester. The other two are Boothwyn Fire Co. and Reliance Hook & Ladder Co. No 1.
Energy Transfer is one of the largest and most diversified energy logistics companies in the country, with approximately 3,000 miles of pipeline infrastructure and gathering systems located in Pennsylvania.
