Penncrest grad competes on ‘Weakest Link’ tonight
Media native Christian Stallings, a 2014 graduate of Penncrest High School, will compete on NBC’s “Weakest Link” 8-9 p.m. this Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the show’s second episode of the season, titled “Who Needs A Recipe To Make Ice Water?”
The revival of the international game show phenomenon “Weakest Link” made its debut last Tuesday, with Jane Lynch taking the reins as the show’s new host, as well as its executive producer.
In the innovative game show, the contestants need a combination of knowledge, team-spirit and a
dash of luck to advance to the finale, and eventually win the competition. Eight strangers enter a high stakes game where they must work together as a team to bank the maximum amount of prize money possible over seven rounds of rapid-fire trivia. At the end of each suspenseful round, it’s every man for himself as players vote to eliminate the fellow contestant they consider to be the “Weakest Link.”
Only one champion will be left standing at the end of the game to take home up to $1 million dollars in prize money, having escaped hearing the famous last words, “You are the weakest link. Goodbye.”
Stallings, 24, received a bachelor’s degree from New York University where he majored in public policy. He is currently working as a legal assistant for Global Operations, Revlon, Inc. During the last few summers, Stallings lived in China and Japan, where he taught English. Having recently relocated to the west coast, he
plans to attend law school at UCLA. In his spare time, Stallings enjoys running, cycling, weightlifting, and reading and is interested in unique collections, art murals, world history and
pop culture.
Although Stallings is unable to disclose the show’s outcome, he was able to comment about the overall experience of being a contestant on the show.
“Being a contestant on ‘Weakest Link’ was great to gain exposure to the ins and outs of TV production,” Stallings stated. “I have so much more respect for TV personalities and contestants as I now know the time and effort it takes to film a single episode. Meeting Jane Lynch was such a wonderful moment for me as her prior show, ‘Glee,’ is one of the reasons I wanted to move to NYC for school.”
“Weakest Link” is produced by BBC Studios in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio. Now airing 8-9 p.m. Tuesdays, the show will move to Mondays, 10-11 p.m. on NBC beginning Oct. 19
