Liam Hempel shot a course-best 40, and Andrew Damico birdied the first and third holes then held on down the stretch as Haverford eked out a win over Garnet Valley, 216-217, Tuesday.

Riley Quartermai­n and Jack Ebert added 44s at Merion West’s par-35 layout.

Matt Pulcinella carded a

41 to lead GV. Justin Kang checked in with a 42, and Braden Rogers added a 43.

PENNCREST 209, MARPLE NEWTOWN 212 » Corey Anderson carded a three-over

38 at Springfiel­d Country Club to lead the Lions to a win. Eli Shah added a 39 for Penncrest, as did Marple’s Jake Micewski and Jason Anderson.

Boys Soccer

Cole Levis and Declan Thompson scored on either side of halftime, and Micah Dill made four saves to lead Delco Christian to a 2-0 win over Dock Mennonite.

Jack Dill and Corin Sacks provided assists.

Girls Tennis

Marple Newtown swept singles play, with Pam Kontarus claiming a straight sets victory at third singles to lead the Tigers to a 5-1 win over Springfiel­d.

Gab Kaplan and Zoe Brennan won a three-setter in first doubles, 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 over Olivia Gordon and Jess Carloni. Kayla Nguyen and Navi Singh earned a point in second doubles.

Springfiel­d’s point came via the third doubles pairing of Anna Nagumey and Abby Barlam.

RUSTIN 7, SUN VALLEY 0 » Katie Fallon and Alena Catka battled to a 6-4 loss in the first set at first doubles before a 6-0 second-set loss, as all seven Vanguards lost in straight sets. Isabela Sullenberg­er and Sophia Dougherty fell, 6-2, 6-2, at fourth doubles.
