GIVE ME MY SIGNS

To the hateful individuals who trespassed in the Old Forge community on private property and stole all of the Trump signs on Friday night, could you please either return them or place them on the open grass out front of the Granite Run Promenade or along 352 or bulbs or the Pike? You have your choice. Put the signs to good use or please return them. They were not yours to take and I do not go around taking Biden signs. What has happened to this world? Why are people so hateful? Anyway, the Old Forge community can replace the signs. Please do not take them again.

NON-HATEFUL CITIZEN

SEE YA, BRUCE

Bruce Springsteen said that if Donald Trump wins the election he will be moving to Australia. Well, I have news for you. You better purchase your ticket now because Donald Trump is going to win, not Joe Biden, who doesn’t even know that he’s running for president of the United States. So Brucie boy, get your ticket now and bye-bye. Take some other people with you, all you losers. Nobody cares. What? Singers and actors all live in a fairy tale land.

FLOWERS THE RELIC

Could you please explain why your paper retains Christine Flowers as an op-ed writer? She is a mean-spirited relic who foments hate and division within our community and spins regressive values and beliefs that date back a century ago. As this county wades ahead through a culturally, politically, and socially challenging time, you persist in offering not only archaic, irrelevant, and obsolete ideas through this writer - who does not reflect the majority of views held by Delaware County citizens - but who is just plain racist and malicious. Kindly find an alternative conservative voice without the outdated messages of hate.

Flowers may not be your cup of tea, but she has a faithful following among our readers - Ed.

IT’S (NOT) IN THE MAIL

To those Sound-Off readers who do not receive mail every day: Are you sure that there is mail for you every day? I know that we see the mail carrier every day on the street. However, there are days when he does not have mail for us. In recent years with the increase of direct deposit and automatic bill paying, not as much “paper “mail is sent out. So, on those days that you do not receive mail, maybe the reason is that no mail was sent to you.

SEE THE FUTURE

What a coincidence that staunch Catholic and right-winger Christine Flowers wrote a column decrying the “evil” of abortion after expressing outrage at how her soulbuddy, Judge Barrett, was treated during the Senate hearings. It shows that she knows exactly what Barrett would do if a case attempting to limit or overturn Roe were to be heard while she is on SCOTUS.

First of all, I am aware of no studies that show evil intent by any significant number of women when they choose to abort. Abortion is indeed unfortunate. But evil? No. Just because people like Ms. Flowers seem unable to sleep at night knowing that some women, somewhere, are getting abortions legally doesn’t make abortion “evil.” I am more than tired of people like her injecting their religiosity into the bodies of others.

CHURCH VS. STATE

Will somebody tell Christine Flowers that there is a separation between government and religion in our country? Not everyone has to practice her religious beliefs. The Delco Times would do well to cut her loose so that folks won’t confuse it with the Catholic Standard and Times.

BUSINESS

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

Superspreader rallies in Michigan and Wisconsin where COVID19 is spiking? The Durham report and Pfizer’s vaccines? Which corner are we turning? It doesn’t matter, as we are on the Highway to Hell. Sadly, Mr. Trump’s expectations are products of magical thinking and the plans of a 5-year-old. His campaign endgame strategy is a public health fiasco. Fifteen more days of voting will turn back the chaos that is part and parcel of this failed administration. Register. Vote.
