MEDIA » Media Borough Council appointed Brittany Forman, MPA, PMP, to the position of Borough Manager of Media on Oct. 15. Forman will serve as the top administrator of local government, managing the daily operations of borough staff, with the exception of the police department employees. Forman replaces former borough manager Jeff Smith.

Forman said she looks forward to working with borough staff and meeting borough residents.

“I’m truly honored to have been selected for the Borough Manager position and excited to join such a dedicated group of public servants,” Forman said. “For years, Media Borough government has been providing residents with efficient and effective government services. I look forward to continuing this trend, while meeting the new challenges of today, supporting our talented workforce, and modernizing our internal processes.”

Prior to joining the borough administration, Forman worked as a director at Econsult Solutions, Inc., an economic consulting firm based in Philadelphia. She helped clients assess budgets and policies, evaluate programs and operations, conduct stakeholder outreach, and quantify economic impacts.

In 2013, Forman worked in the City of Norfolk, Va., in both the executive and legislative branches of government. As assistant to the mayor, she was the primary liaison to citizens, community, and government agencies providing executive communication and support. While in the Department of City Planning, she gained intimate knowledge of planning, zoning, permit, and development processes while conducting efficiency evaluations and providing research and policy recommendations.

In 2009, Forman was selected as a U.S. Presidential Management Fellow - the federal government’s flagship leadership development program. From 2009-2013, Forman served as a budget analyst at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She managed a portfolio of several hundred million dollars where she gained valuable experience in budget preparation, program management, and policy development. In addition, she led the annual process for reviewing agency-wide performance goals.

Forman holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s in economics from the College of William and Mary. In 2015, she became a certified project management professional (PMP)® by the Project Management Institute.

Forman lives in Media with her husband and two sons. She is an active member of the Delaware County Black Caucus, the NAACP Media-area Branch, and previously served on the board of trustees for the Media-Upper Providence Free Library.
