(1924-2020) Rosemarie Martello (Castagna) Hitchens, 96, of Ridley Park died November 29, 2020 at Aventura at Prospect Park.

Born in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Rose Luciano Castagna and Dominic and Anna Martello, who were her parents since she was four months old.

Rosemarie was a graduate of Summit Hill High School, class of 1940 and was last employed at Taylor Hospital. She was a member of the Church of St. Madeline, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #6984 in Milton, DE, and the Ridley Park Seniors. Rosemarie was a Neighborho­od Girl Scout Chairwoman, Committee Woman for the 2nd Ward and volunteere­d with Meals on Wheels. She was an avid Phillies Fan, loved Army and Navy Football, Soul Arena Football, the Eagles and the Mummers, but most important was her devotion to her family, especially her grandson.

Rosemarie was predecease­d by her husband of 47 years, Levin Paul “Hitch” Hitchens, who died July

4, 1994; her children, Levin P. “Buddy” Hitchens, Jr., Mary Louise Hitchens and Monna J. Hitchens (Frank); and her siblings, Mary Lou Carli, Eugene Martello, Ernest Castagna, Bart Castagna and Dorothy Fojtik.

She is survived by her children, Donna M. Klimowski (Robert) and Kevin E. Hitchens (Deborah); her grandson, Robert J. Klimowski (Janet); her great grandchild­ren, Annalee, Lucilynn and Finnegan; and her sisters, Joanne Wargo (John) and Jacquline Collevecho.
