Stars should so their part in troubled times

- Jeff Campbell, Folsom

To the Times:

In these times of COLVID and partisan decisions, it is very clear what decisions need to be made. COVID decisions are tough and ongoing and sometimes changing daily, but partisan decisions are easy. Simply said, if you don’t mask up and keep distance, you are growing this virus.

Yes, I respect those that claim their right to not be told what to do, but these times are clearly different. Remember the hospital workers that may be treating people that you or others may have infected, without knowing it. Your friend, your grandma, your own kids- please stop this ignorance of simple measures that do make a difference. You are putting these workers that are working long hours to protect you and save our folks with the virus at risk- so much that they may get outworked. Soooo simple measures that are sometimes ignored should not be, especially for the sake your own family.

I have a plan that may take off, or not. The government is stressed right now, for a whole bunch of reasons, and it may take awhile for them to get us money where it’s needed.

Many folks in our USA setting have been lucky in their lives to have a considerable fortune – movie stars, TV stars, actors and actresses, sports stars, etc.

My call is for them to spend their money in times of dire need back to the cities they came from – give to restaurants, their employees, small stores. SO many folks in each town are affected for so many reasons – rent, basics, health care, child care, etc. – they are stressed. And the contributors can claim a tax write off. Please take my lead in contacting your favorite star by all the social media that is available, Facebook, Twitter, whatever to get the message out. I’ve already contacted a few of my faves.

Silly? Maybe. But maybe a movement we need right now.

Please take a moment to think what is at stake here. You may think you are infallible, can’t get it- but think of your family, even your own life, your grandkids. It’s so simple to do the sensible thing – you’ll get smiles. Forever is your choice.
