Daily Times Christmas Fund could use some donations

Given today: $ 1,025.00 Given to date: $11,500.00 CHESTER » The 2020 Merry Christmas Fund brought another nine donations into the fold over the weekend, led by $300 gifts from an anonymous donor and Kathleen A. McHenry of Boothwyn.

Today’s donors helping the Salvation Army Chester Corps supply area families with food baskets and toys the week of Christmas are:

· Helen Magee of Springfiel­d, $25: “In loving memory of Frank Magee from his family.”

· James and Christine Morrison of Holmes, $50: “In honor of our friend, Beth Carpenter on her birthday – Chris and Jim of Holmes.”

· Anonymous, $300. · Frances E. Stephens of Brookhaven, $25: “In memory of James H. Greiner.”

· Kathleen A. McHenry of Boothwyn, $300: “Paying it forward in loving memory of Joe McHenry. Thank you for all you do for those in need. Merry Christmas! – Kate McHenry and Family.”

· Craig & Denise Talley of Newtown Square, $100: “In memory of Bob and Helena Talley.”

· Gerald & Nancy Buscaglia of Holmes, $50: “Merry Christmas!”

· Ronald and Sheila Withelder of Aston, $100: “In honor of all the wonderful work done by The Salvation Army and in memory of our son, Ray, gone 15 years now.”

· Albert and Kathleen Strohm of Brookhaven, $75.

The Dec. 10 edition of the Times listed a donation from Russell Garrison and Kim Garrison of Aston with an incorrect name in the message. The correct message is:

· “In loving memory of our mother, Betty H. Garrison. We miss you. – Kim Garrison and brother, Russ.”

The Chester Corps’ locations for the annual Salvation Army Kettle Drive are underway. Those interested in volunteeri­ng may call the Chester Corps headquarte­rs at 610-874-0423 or visit pa. salvationa­rmy.org/chester The Daily Times will provide daily updates showing the amount of donations received and list the names of contributo­rs to the Merry Christmas Fund.

Those who wish to be recognized should include a very brief, legible holiday message with their donations.
