Louise Campbell Ellers
(1922-2020) Louise Campbell Ellers,
98, of Ridley Park died peacefully at home with her family on December
12, 2020. Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Archie and Mary Pyewell Campbell and grew up in Marcus Hook.
Louise, affectionately known as, “Peach”, was the first and longest living resident on Buse Street, after moving there in
1953.
Peach was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Frank “Ace” Ellers, who died March 3, 2006; as well as her sisters, Catherine “Kitty” Campbell and Marian C. Normart.
Peach was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1940 and attended Pierce Business School. She was employed by Ridley School District as a Secretary at Lakeview School for 20 years before retiring. Peach was a former secretary and member of the Young at Heart Seniors and was an active volunteer with the Barnstormers. She was an avid bridge player and quilter, who enjoyed traveling, especially internationally, visiting all the landed continents. But most important was always her devoted family and many friends.
She is the mother of Douglas (Pat), Steven (Gloria) and Gary Ellers (Sally Jo) and Wendy Ellers Dodson (Darryl); grandmother of Kevin, Christopher, Jeannie and Michi Ellers; and great grandmother of Samantha, Kyle, Andrea and Camila.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
