Anne Myers
Anne Myers, age 85, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 peacefully at her home in Bethel Township, Garnet Valley, PA with her family around her.
Born Anna May Muraska in Chester, Pennsylvania to Neil and Helen Kennovin, she was raised by her grandparents, Mary and Joseph Muraska, in Chester and attended Chester High School. After graduation, she worked at the Scott Paper Company in Chester. Anne then met and married John Myers, Jr., also of Chester High School. They married at the Madison Street United Methodist Church on September 22, 1956. They settled in Chester and had four children before moving to Bethel Township, Garnet Valley, PA, where she lived until her passing.
Anne was involved in many of her children’s school activities, especially homeroom parent, Girl Scouts, and Garnet Valley band parent. She was a prominent member of the Bethel Township Recreation Committee for many years. Anne was a long time active member of the Siloam Methodist Church and served as the secretary for many years. Anne, also, served as the bookkeeper for her husband’s construction business, Myers & Burdett.
Anne is predeceased by her loving husband, John Myers, Jr who passed away March 26, 1997. Anne is survived by her children, Susan (William) Kleinert, Joyce Prevoznik, John (Teresa) Myers, III, and Nancy (William) Putman, Jr.
Anne is also survived by her 12 grandchildren; Mallory Kleinert, Laura Putman Crail, William Kleinert, Jr., Michael Prevoznik, Jr., William Putman, III, Timothy Putman, Christopher Prevoznik, John David Myers, Daniel Prevoznik, Jamie Myers, Scott Myers, and Elizabeth Prevoznik. She treasured her 2 great-grandchildren, Kiva Myers and Liam Putman and has another on the way.
Services will be held privately at the request of the family. Donations in her memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org/donate.
Anne was a devoted mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and loving wife. As her granddaughter Laura put it, Mommom was the matriarch and leader of our Myers family compound here in Bethel Township and the glue that held our whole family together. She will be missed by all.
