Last-minute gifts arrive at the Merry Christmas Fund

12 checks arrived at the Salvation Army on Monday, Tuesday brought a stack of
22. The day’s gifts, led by
$1,000 from donors identified as “Jim and Steve,” pushed the fund to 45 percent of its $50,000 goal on Christmas Eve. The Chester Corps is awaiting the delivery of a $10,000 check from Aqua America for the fund, which would put it at 65 percent for the season.
