Here are some events planned for this weekend around the region:

• Ardmore Music Hall and Nugs.Net present a musical event hosted by WXPN’s Julian Booker featuring archival content from more than 20 artists on Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight. Included will be performanc­es by Start Making Sense (Talking Heads tribute), Ardmore Music Hall Family Band, Circles Around the Sun, Voodoo Dead, Soulive, Living Colour, Railroad Earth, The Soul Rebels ft. Matisyahu, Anders Osborne, TAUK, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Cabinet, Marco Benevento, The Wailers, Golden Gate Wingmen, West Philly Fadeaway, Wolf!, Talking Dreads, Arnetta Johnson & SUNNY, SPAGA, Go DOPAPOD OG, Wavy All-Stars 2017, Everyone Orchestra, Black Uhuru and Melvin Seals & JGB. • The Covert Concert Series presents a performanc­e by the Lancaster-based jazz/punk outfit Wayward Giants on Friday at 8 p.m. on Facebook Live. The band is described as “... light, fun and downright cheerful at times but the lyrics often have a hint of melancholy.”

• The N Crowd improv

troupe presents a virtual fundraiser for Steel River Playhouse, Pottstown, on Friday from 8 to 9:30 p.m. online via Twitch. A

• SoulJoel’s Comedy

Club, 155 Railroad Plaza, Royersford, presents two shows under its heated dome this weekend: Shane Torres on Friday at 7 p.m. and Kevin Brennan and Friends on Saturday at 7 p.m. Torres is a stand-up comedian, writer, actor and podcaster who has performed at festivals all over the globe and appeared on “Conan,” Comedy Central, IFC’S “Comedy Bang Bang” and NBC’S “Last Comic Standing.” Brennan, a former writer and performer

on “Saturday Night Live,” is known for his no-holdsbarre­d style. His TV credits include “Late Show With David Letterman,” “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” and “Last Call With Carson Daly.” Tickets are $20 per show at souljoelsc­omedyclub.nightout.com. The events are bring your own chairs, drinks and food. • Kennett Flash in Kennett Square presents a livestream­ed concert featuring Jason Ager and JimmyJimmy on Saturday at 8 p.m. on its Facebook and YouTube pages. On his third album, “Porchlight,” Ager’s storytelli­ng shines as he weaves together the academic and the arcane into clever lyrics that reward the careful listener. JimmyJimmy is a solo

performer whose songwritin­g offers a fresh take on pop/rock, as evidenced on his latest release, “Do The JimmyJimmy.” The show has a suggested donation of $15.

• The 40th annual CultureFes­t! Lunar New Year Festival at the Penn Museum, Philadelph­ia, is going virtual this year. Running throughout January, it includes nearly 25 activities leading up to one of the most important holidays celebrated in many Asian cultures. Designed for everyone to learn more about Lunar New Year and diverse cultural traditions, the festival begins today with “Extraordin­ary Food Finds Among Philly Asian Markets,” from 5:30 to

6:15 p.m. on Facebook Live,

an online happy hour in which blogger David Dettmann shares his expertise and love of Asian grocery stores across the city. On Sunday, the film “The Wandering Chef,” in which Jiho Im creates 108 dishes — a culinary representa­tion of the 108 agonies of life in Buddhism — in 24 hours will be streamed at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, “At-Home Anthro LIVE: The Story of the Chinese Zodiac” will be streamed at 1 p.m. Participan­ts search for animals from the Chinese Zodiac calendar among artifacts in the collection­s. • The Reading Liederkran­z, 143 Spook Lane, presents a Snow Ball featuring music by Smokin’ Soles on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. under its pavilion. There will be a bonfire and space heaters but warm attire is advised. The outside bar and kitchen will be open starting at 5 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge. Masks are required. • Second Friday on the Avenue in West Reading will include the ribboncutt­ing ceremony for Willow Creek Brewing,

643 Penn Ave., at 5 p.m. Second Friday runs from
