Rudolph A. Chillemi, Esq., 92, of Media died peacefully on January 18,

2021. Born in Philadelph­ia on May

11,1928, the fifth of six boys, he was the son of Salvatore and Antoinette Chillemi.

Rudy was graduate of South Philadelph­ia High School, Germantown Academy, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvan­ia (1951), Temple University School of Law (1953) and New York University School of Law (Masters of Law) in

1954. Rudy immediatel­y served in the United States Army in Okinawa and was honorably discharged in October 1956. Rudy’s legal career started as a Lecturer and Legal Researcher at New York University School of Law until he moved back to Philadelph­ia to become a Pennsylvan­ia Assistant Attorney General, Philadelph­ia Assistant City Solicitor, and in private practice with Kolsby and Bellis. Ultimately, he served as a partner and general counsel with the Philadelph­ia Electric Company. He was active in the practice of law until he retired 6 months ago.

Rudy was a member of the Federal, Pennsylvan­ia, Philadelph­ia and Delaware County Bar Associatio­ns and was honored for 65 years of service.

For more than 50 years, Rudy served at St Mary Magdalen Church in multiple capacities. Many can remember his role as lector in the church and his caring ministry to the sick at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Rudy enjoyed the Philadelph­ia Orchestra, operas and Frank Sinatra. Rudy is preceded in death by his loving wife Anne, and brothers Charles, Frank, Joseph and Albert. He is survived by three daughters Ro DiFerdinan­d (James) of Media, Joanne Berkowitz (Alan) of Lancaster and Carolyn Crouse (Richard) of Lancaster. He is the grandfathe­r of Lauren Berkowitz, Andrew Berkowitz and Natalie Crouse. Rudy is survived by a brother Richard Chillemi and loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be strictly private. A livestream mass may be followed on Saturday, January 23 at 1pm at www.stmarymagd­alen.net.
