(1931-2021) Elizabeth “Betty” Voshell White, 89, of Aston Township, died March 5, 2021 at her home. Born and raised in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Fleming Voshell. She moved to her Aston residence 58 years ago.

Betty was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1949. She was employed by Penn Delco School District for 28 years before retiring in 1993 as Secretary to the Superinten­dent. She previously worked as a secretary at Chester Times where she met her husband, Jack. Jack and Betty loved to entertain their family and neighbors. They organized a cousin’s club and neighborho­od progressiv­e dinners. They hosted many picnics in their backyard with bushels of crabs. They spent their summer vacations in Surf City, NJ. They traveled the west coast and England together. After Jack’s passing, Betty remained adventurou­s, taking cruises, traveling to Japan, Disney World, road trips to Tennessee to visit her sister and niece, hot air ballooning and parasailin­g.

Betty was a member of Mount Hope U.M. Church, the Page Turners Book Club, RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) where she read with students at Pennell Elementary, PASR (Pennsylvan­ia Assoc. of School Retirees) and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Aston. She was an avid Phillies and Eagles Fan who enjoyed reading, cooking and walking the neighborho­od with her friend, Helen.

Betty was predecease­d by her loving husband of

47 years, John D. “Jack” White, who died March

23, 2000; her grandson, David Marencin; and her sisters, Eva Turner and Roberta Haupt.

She was the mother of Karen Wells (Stuart), Glenn White (Lynda), Kim Wilson (Scott); grandmothe­r of Jaclyn Marencin (Luisa Serrato), Kim Wells (Mike Adoff ), Kate Gallagher (Shaun), Sarah Haynes (Harry) and Michelle White (Jeff Nickson); and great grandmothe­r of Riley and Autumn Haynes, Avery Nickson and Eliot Marencin.

Betty was beautiful, funny and always up for an adventure. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Graveside Service and Burial: 11:30 AM Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 Ridge Road, Linwood, PA 19061.
