Groark leads Episcopal on rout of GA

Sarah Groark showed the way as Episcopal Academy blitzed Germantown Academy in InterAc League girls lacrosse Monday afternoon, 17-7.

Groark scored six goals and two assists. Alexa Capozzoli added three goals and three assists, and had three draw controls. Alexis Ventresca registered a hat trick, while Jordan Morley chipped in two goals and four assists.

Field Hockey

Dani Linker powered the offense with three goals and two assists and Maddy Bonner controlled things on defense in Interboro’s 9-1 United X win over Academy Park. Logan Stewart (one assist), Maura Smith and Miranda Neill chipped in with two goals each for the Bucs (3-0).

Boys Tennis

Radnor swept the final three doubles matches to record a 5-2 nonleague victory over Upper Dublin.

Sam Hilbert and Ryan Movsowitch

won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at second doubles. Gram Bernabeo and Aray Menon won 6-4, 7-5 and third doubles, and P.J. Duggy and Manato Matsuoka won 6-3, 6-4 at fourth doubles to put the match away.

DEVON PREP 4, HAVERFORD 1 » Nick Kemp and Alejandro Sanjoa worked to the limit to win second doubles, the only point for the Fords. Kemp and Sanjoa outlasted Pat Dean and Matt Egan, 6-7 (6), 7-5, 7-6 (5).

Runk went three sets before falling at first doubles, and Justin Salvesen and Tom Nguyen stretched their singles matches into three sets before falling.

Boys Hockey

Denny Anastasia scored twice in the second period to break the game open and pace Cardinal O’Hara to a 5-2 triumph over DMA-Tatnall.

Anastasia second goal was the winner. Luke Melito added one goal and one assist for the Lions.
