Eagles bringing back Howard, sign on LB Wilson
PHILADELPHIA » The Eagles are bringing back running back Jordan Howard via a one-year free agent deal, the club confirmed Wednesday. The Birds also announced they have signed linebacker Eric Wilson to a one-year deal.
Wilson, 26, was a league co-leader among linebackers in interceptions (3) last season while with the Minnesota Vikings.
Howard, also 26, was brought in by the sliding Eagles last November after the Dolphins put him on waivers. In 2019, Howard was traded to the Eagles after three seasons in Chicago. He was slowed by injuries, but in 10 games for the Birds that season he bulled for 525 yards and six touchdowns.
Howard played five games with the Dolphins and two with the Eagles in 2020, rushing only 35 times for 60 yards in total, but scoring four TDs with the Dolphins as a goal-line specialist.
Wilson, originally an undrafted free agent, reportedly could earn upwards of $3.25 million under terms of his deal.
