Larkin, Garvey shoot O’Hara past Roman

Thomas Larkin and Ryan Garvey carded low rounds of 36 to lead Cardinal O’Hara past Roman Catholic, 238255, at par-32 Walnut Lane Golf Club Thursday.

The win extended the Lions’ season-opening winning streak to six. Larkin registered four pars and a birdie, while Garvey shot par on five holes.

Ben Bowdler added a 37 and Anthony Carson chipped in with a 38 on six pars.

Baseball

Garnet Valley’s Jack Dembek pitched a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 Central League win over Harriton Thursday.

Ryan Wootten went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Jaguars. Reed Farrell singled and knocked in a run.

In other Central League action:

MARPLE NEWTOWN 8, RIDLEY 6» Dillon Can went 3-for-5 and Greg Impriano went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to help the visiting Tigers beat the Green Raiders. Tommy Lucchesi doubled and drove in two runs and started the game on the mound, striking out six over four innings.

Frank Gallo finished 3-for-4 with a double three RBIs for Ridley.

PENNCREST 15, CONESTOGA 9 » Luke Cavanaugh powered the Lions offensive attack with three singles, three RBIs and two runs scored. Christian Reed went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored, an RBI and two walks. Brian MacCurtin, Brett Bonebrake and Jermey Mack (two RBIs) all contribute­d two-hit games.

RADNOR 13, UPPER DARBY 2 » Scottie Belveal and Jack Pachella fueled the Radnor offense with three hits apiece.

Jimmy Sweet struck out five over four innings to earn the win. Jack Condran added a two-run single for the winning team.

SPRINGFIEL­D 4, LOWER MERION 2 » WInning pitcher Matt Tassone threw five solid innings, allowing three hits while striking out three. Cody Grande belted a home run and Joey Little collected a pair of base knocks for the Cougars.

Boys Lacrosse

Gavin Kingsborou­gh racked up three goals and one assist as Ridley defeated Devon Prep in nonleague action, 12-7.

Jack Wills tossed in two goals and an assist for the Green Raiders. Matt Morris had a pair of tallies. SPRINGFIEL­D 12, UPPER DUBLIN 6 » Brett Gougler found the back of the net three times for the Cougars, who led 9-2 at halftime. Robbie O’Brien and Sean Donaldson scored two goals apiece and goalie Ethan Johnson made five saves.

In the Central League: PENNCREST 14, UPPER DARBY 1» Dylan McDougall paired three goals with three assists to power the Lions (70) to another win.

Kyle Ridpath had a goal and three helpers and goalies Andrew Wickman, Luke Pyle-Ballak and Dylan Walsh combined for five saves. Wyatt Hannemann went 8-for-8 in faceoffs.

Shane Soley had the goal for the Royals.

Girls Lacrosse

Emma Beaty produced six goals and one assist in Bonner-Prendergas­t’s 17-9 victory over St. Hubert.

Leila George netted four goals and Ainsley George registered three goals and three assists for the Pandas. Kate Standen posted a hat trick and Abigail Blemings added a goal and two assists.

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 20, HALLAHAN 0 » Kiley Mottice, who supplied six assists, was one of 20 players to score a goal for the Patriots (5-1, 5-0).

Bridget Robinson (one save) recorded her third straight shutout and third win of the season. CARDINAL O’HARA 12, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 1 » Rachel Familetti scored four goals and the Lions got two-goal efforts by Ellie Miller, Lexi Culp and Mia Scarduzio.

In the Central League: GARNET VALLEY 21, MARPLE NEWTOWN 6 » Maddie Kalish recorded five goals and two assists and Kate Stankavage scored four goals for the Jaguars, who received threegoal performanc­es by Sophie Kingsborou­gh and Sydney Pyon. Kendall DiCamillo added two goals and Sierra McLaughlin had six saves.

Kylie Gioia led the way for the Tigers with five goals and an assist.

RADNOR 14, STRATH HAVEN 6» Karis Mameniskis and Tori DeCarlo showed the way for Radnor with three goals apiece. Sheila Esgro and CIerra Hopson each scored twice.

Boys Tennis

Senior co-captain Matthew Blickley was victorious at first singles for Haverford High, which earned a 5-1 decision over Springfiel­d.
