DiGregorio comes through for Expos in MSBL opener

Anthony DiGregorio delivered the winning hit as the Top Lumber Expos opened the Delco MSBL season with a 4-3 triumph over the Media Mustangs Sunday.

Barry Blundin tossed three shutout innings to start the game, and Matt Papa hurled the final three innings to get the win. Gabe Encarnacio­n led the offense with a single, double and run scored. Andrew DeGaetano drove in a run, and Kevin Archer added two singles and one run scored.

Softball

Tim Osenbach went 7-for-8 with a homer and nine RBIs as MRC topped Maxi’s twice, 20-10 and 5-2, in the opening weekend of the Delco Sunday Softball League. Johnny Radovich also went 7-for-8 on the day.

TUMBLE INN TOUCANS 11-14, RUSSO’S 3-1 » Jimmy Jenkins (3-for-3, double, four RBIs), Will Simon (two hits) and Mark Bruno (two hits, two RBIs) led the way in the opener. Dan Fallon and Sean Menickella both went 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the nightcap.

UPLAND A.C. 10-4, GALLE ELECTRIC SHOCKERS 5-14 » Ronnie

Billick got the win for Upland in Game 1. Eddie Toy and Chris Gehris turned several double plays and went 3-for-3 to help the Shockers earn a split.

HEAVY HITTERS 20-21, TUMBLE INN 5-6 » Anthony Yannuzzi, Mike Montz and Tom Bonner went 6-for-7, and Dom D’Angelo and Tyler D’Angelo were 5-for-7 for the Hitters.

AMSETT 8-4, ZLS/1847 FINANCIAL 5-10 » Casey Marhon shut down ZLS in the opener. Tony Leon and Scott Haun went deep in the nightcap and Ronnie Duranto got the win in relief.

In the Millennium Sunday League:

DOUBLE DECKER GLENOLDEN 14-11, MISFITS 4-9 » Matt Demarco drove in three runs as Double Decker overcame a 4-0 deficit in the opener. Pat Dix knocked in three runs to help DDG climb out of a 9-7 hole in the nightcap.

Spencer Knox and Bob McGrath knocked in two runs each in the first game, and Dave Caster had two RBIs in the second game.

PRECISION CHIMNEY 28-17, MRC 2-5 » Chuck Brooks was 5-for-6 with three RBIs in the twin bill and was the winning pitcher in both games. Marc McGough was 4-for-4 in Game 1, and Zac Cunningham had two homers while going 3-for-3 in the nightcap.

BUST’S TAVERN 18-3, MCGILLICUD­DY’S TINICUM 3-18 » Fred Ziegler (3-for-3, four RBIs) paced Busty’s in the opener. Vince Bellisimo went 7-for-7 with six RBIs for McGillicud­dy’s.

ASHLEY’S RESTAURANT 11-10, MARTY MAGEE’S KNIGHTS 9-20 » Jerry Benedict had a double, triple and five RBIs to pace Ashley’s in the first game.

Mark Despeaux, Timmy Klingerman­d and Gordy Hutton all went 4-for-5 as the Knights picked up their first win of the season in Game 2.

MARY’S MAGEE’S HERE FOR BEERS 18-20, MARTY MAGEE’S HOPS 8-19 » Eddie McBride and Kyle Haggerty both went 3-for-3 in Game 1. Bill Michaels was 4-for-4 in Game 2.

J.T. BREWSKI’S DEER 15-17, SWALOON PUB 11-16 » Brian Sloan had five hits and Sean Fitzgerald came up with a clutch RBI in the nightcap.

CASEY’S RIDLEY PARK 17, BAD NEWS BEARS 14 » Nick Biondy smacked three triples and a double, and Mike Palladino and Hector Orango added three hits each for Casey’s in the opener.

BEHMKE CONSTRUCTI­ON 7, DOLAN’S 5 » Mario Farnell went 2-for-3 with a dinger and two RBIs. Dan Santosusso (2-for-3) also went deep for the winners.
