Walter A. Babicki, Jr., 71, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021.

He was the son of the late Walter A. and Laura T. (Smagala) Babicki, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Ridley Park. He was very proud of his Polish heritage and a former member of St. Hedwig’s Parish. He graduated from the former St. James High School in 1967 and retired from DuPont Experimental Station in 1999.

He was known to love his Coors Light and cigarettes but mostly will be remembered for his generosity to his family and all those who knew him. He had such support for our military troops that he even “overnighted” hoagies to them more than once.

Back in the 1970’s he was an active firefighter and captain of the former Felton Fire Co. He was also a certified scuba diver, a member of the West End Boat Club, a Nall Little League coach and member of PIAA.

He leaves behind three sisters Christine Babicki (David Starkie), Lori Detweiler (Dave, his caregiver) and Maureen Babicki (Shawn Prendergast); Uncle to David (Kim) Detweiler, Jill (Michael) Ruggieri, Derek (Valerie) Detweiler, Patrick Prendergast (Allie Culen) and Holly Prendergast; Great Uncle Wee Wee to Corey, Drew, Conner, Jackson, Kendall, Jett, Mira and Wyatt.
