Delco Press Club presents conversation with film director Todd Robinson
MEDIA » Writer/director Todd Robinson, Delaware County native and professor in the graduate program of the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, will share his experiences working and teaching in the film industry at a webinar presented by the Delaware County Press Club, noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Robinson, a former Middletown resident and 1977 graduate of Penncrest High School, studied drama in high school and in college. Originally trained as an actor, he made the switch from in front of the camera to behind it and has directed for both the big screen and the small with much success. Robinson’s latest film, “The Last Full Measure,” is inspired by the incredible true story of Airman William Pitsenbarger, Jr. who is awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military honor, 34 years after his death. The war drama stars Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, Peter Fonda, Diane Ladd, Samuel Jackson, Bradley Whitford, John Savage, Alison Sudol, Michael Imperioli, James Jagger, and Jeremy Irvine, among others. The film is the last film that Peter Fonda starred in before he died.
Robinson, an honoree in the Penncrest High School Hall of Fame, sits on the board of directors of Save A Warrior, a program that equips returning veterans, active duty service members, and first responders with a community of support and techniques to overcome symptoms associated with Post Traumatic Stress and suicidal ideations.
