HUNGER PANGS

Yes, as I’m sitting here having a cup of coffee this morning and I’m listening to the news I see that all these people are getting free food. And yet they don’t have any food for the military on the bases. You have to be kidding. Somebody better do something fast.

MOVING ON

In 1996 The Chester Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. had its “Kappa Friends in Need Turkey Drive” to give turkeys to the poor. The rule was: “Recipients must show proper ID.” Fast forward: Now they can vote without showing “proper ID.” Great progress!

BRING BACK JODINE

I was pleasantly surprised to see a guest column by Jodine Mayberry in today’s paper. I miss her clear and insightful thoughts on the passing scene; for example, her puzzlement over why judges should be retained without the public having any/much info on them (I voted against all of them - who the hell are they?). Please entice/bribe/trick/ plead or whatever to get Jodine back writing for this paper on a regular basis. She provides a nice balance to the usual loonies spouting their rightwing venom.

NO DEFENSE

Thinking that Public Defender Christopher

Welch might consider taking a pointer from the late Nicholas Theodore, Public Defender from 1987 until his death in 2004. Nick was where he wanted to be, and not merely using the office as a stepping stone to “higher ambitions.” Publicly, Theodore always had his employees’ backs (although privately, he was known to rip someone a new one if the circumstances warranted…). As a result, morale was high, and the office was a force to be reckoned with. Compare this to now, where the department head seems to split his time between seeking out media exposure, and looking for a larger bus to throw the remaining “legacy” attorneys under. How this serves indigent clients, I’ll never know. (While I’m a former assistant public defender,

I’m retired, not “disgruntled”, nor am I Republican … just sayin’.)

TWO WISHES

All I want for Christmas this year is an end to the pandemic and to see Donald Trump in a yellow jumpsuit and hand cuffs being lead to his jail cell. Happy holidays.

CHEERS TO DELCO

Thank heavens there are still good and brave people in the county. The neighbors and firefighters who save the elderly woman in Haverford deserve a standing ovation. And the firefighters deserve the stipends that the township is giving them. This nation was built on volunteerism and cooperation. The volunteer fire service needs your support.

JUST WONDERING

I have a suggestion.

Next time you go to the mall shopping or to the market shopping or to the gas station to fill your car up, ask yourself one question: Why would anybody be stupid enough to vote Democrat?

TIME FOR THEM TO GO

Joe Biden should shut his big mouth. He has no right to give an opinion on the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict. It’s none of his business. He pokes his nose into things that don’t concern him, but he can’t speak up about things he could talk about. He is an enemy of our country. How do we get rid of him? Harris is on her way out and I hope she takes creepy

Joe with her. We deserve someone who loves our country, not someone who is destroying our country.

A FEW DEATHS MAY HELP

The coronavirus is surging once again. It’s become quite clear that the only way we’re ever going to get rid of the virus is for all the selfish stupid people who refused to get vaccinated to die off from getting the virus so then the only people left will be the intelligent caring people who have gotten vaccinations. The only problem is the selfish stupid people aren’t dying off fast enough.
