Elva Davis Schuler, 87 of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 11, 2021.

Born in Essington, the daughter of the late Edward S. and Florence Rumbold Davis, she lived in Wallingfor­d before moving to Maris Grove in 2009.

Elva was a graduate of Prospect Park High School, class of 1952 where she played field hockey and basketball. She attended Fitzgerald-Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1955. Elva would often talk about the many fond memories she had during her time in Prospect Park and “Fitz”. She cherished the close friends she made during those years and kept in touch with them through her life. During her nursing career she worked in many fields, including Emergency, Industrial (American Viscose), and Maternity, but she most enjoyed working in the Emergency Ward. Elva was a member of Saint

James Episcopal Church in Prospect Park where she served on the Altar Guild and taught Sunday school. Most recently she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ridley Park. She was also active in the Prospect Park Alumni Associatio­n, the Prospect Park Boys Club, and the Maris Grove Bee Club.

Elva was always willing to help others. She was a caregiver to many family members and friends throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and travel, but especially loved spending her summers in Sea Isle City, NJ. Her family was most important to her, and she made sure to always support their endeavors.

Elva was wife of the late John P. Schuler, mother of the late Edward Daniel Schuler, and sister of the late Evelyn M. Sheppard. She is survived by her children; John Timothy Schuler (Patricia) and Florence Marie Spevak (Eric Estrada); her daughter-in-law Susan Babicz Schuler; and her grandchild­ren Emily Schuler

Davis (Daniel), John Benjamin, Daniel Anthony, and Matthew Francis Schuler.

The Schuler Family would like to thank the Rose Court staff and Willow Tree Hospice for helping to make the most of Elva’s last few months and for keeping her comfortabl­e in her last days.
