Sidlowski KO’s 20 Royals, leaving GV flush with victory

Anna Sidlowski twirled a gem Wednesday, striking out 20 Royals in a no-hitter as Garnet Valley topped Upper Darby, 8-0, in Central League softball action.

Sidlowski allowed just three baserunner­s. Anna Sareyka led the offense with three hits and three RBIs. Rylee Bailey had two hits and an RBI.

Also in the Central League: STRATH HAVEN 7, HARRITON 5 » Ella Liberi doubled among her two hits and drove in two runs, and Megan Noon navigated a bumpy sixth inning to get the win.

Noon scattered seven hits and one walk, allowing three earned runs. Harriton’s Lindsay Marsh homered to cue a three-run sixth, but Noon settled in to get the job done.

Maya Grande had a hit, an RBI and a run scored for Haven. Cassidy DiRemigio scored two runs.

RIDLEY 12, CONESTOGA 2 » Ridley’s three seniors did plenty of celebratin­g under the lights at Widener late Tuesday. Faith Zanetich went 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, Dakota Marshall homered and drove in three and Mary DelFera had two hits and two runs scored to pace a 17-hit attack.

Paige McLaughlin and Karlie Cecchini each homered and combined for five RBIs.

MARPLE NEWTOWN 14, RADNOR 3 » Lindsay Walsh homered, drove in four and scored three times as the Tigers stunned the Raptors with 11 runs in the first.

Shauna Kerrigan drove in two runs and scored twice. Brianna Kelly and Emily Bower scored twice each.

Mia Engle had two hits and an RBI for Radnor.

SPRINGFIEL­D 19, PENNCREST 10 » Springfiel­d’s nine-run third answered Penncrest’s six-run second, which had answered the seven runs posted by the Cougars in the top of the first in a not-so-defensive struggle.

Ryleigh Frye led Springfiel­d’s hit parade with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Anika Christophe­r was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Ava Shaner went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Riley Signor tripled among two hits and scored three times for Penncrest. Eliana Guerrrieri went 3-for-4 with two RBis and two runs scored.

In the Ches-Mont League:

DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 4, SUN VALLEY 3 » Jordyn Skarren had a strong performanc­e in the circle and knocked in a run, but the Vanguards couldn’t get the better of the Cougars. Layla Murphy also picked up an RBI. Ally Sheppard scored twice.

Girls Lacrosse

Katie Onderdonk helped Notre Dame get out to a fast start, with four goals, four assists and 12 draw controls in a 20-13 win over Baldwin.

The Irish led 14-4 at half and never looked back. Aly McGuire and Cate Fox scored four times each. Kylee O’Donnell tallied a hat trick. Maggie Sullivan stopped seven shots.

In nonleague action: CARDINAL O’HARA 14, HILL SCHOOL 10 » Ellie Miller and Maddie Sharkey scored four goals each, Miller adding three assists as the Lions scored 11 times after halftime to rally.

Mack Hand was huge in goal with seven saves, behind the defense of Sofia Brown and Kristen Kutufaris. Mia Scarduzio paired three assists with a goal and five draw controls, and Lexi Culp tossed in a hat trick.

ACADEMY PARK 12, CONWELLEGA­N 9 » Jada Kinlaw scored eight goals, and Natalya Mercardo

controlled seven draws to go with her goal for the Knights.

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 10, PENN CHARTER 9 » The Patriots (17-0) got their toughest test yet, with Kiley Mottice and Ava Bleckley scoring late to break an 8-8 tie and see off the Quakers Tuesday.

Mottice had two goals and an assist. Bleckley and Machaela Henry scored twice each. Bridget Robinson stopped 14 shots.

In the Central League: PENNCREST 17, SPRINGFIEL­D 14 » Adisyn Bernhardt potted six goals, and Kathryn Harding, Kaitlyn Roth and Annalyn Pompetti had a hand in five goals apiece to lead the Lions late Tuesday.

Erin DeStefano scored her 100th career goal in the loss for the Cougars.

Boys Lacrosse

With Ben McCarthy and Griff Meyer winning 18 of 21 faceoffs, Haverford School kept Germantown Academy under control in an 11-6 win Tuesday.

Teddy Malone paired two goals with two assists. Ryan DiRocco added two goals and a helper, and Aydan DiRocco scored twice.
