Dunleavy’s grand slam helps Interboro complete sweep

Luke Dunleavy belted a grand slam and drove in five runs in the second game as Interboro topped Penn Wood in a Del Val League doublehead­er Tuesday by a pair of 16-1 scores.

Andrew Barbera was the winning pitcher in the nightcap. Aiden Woodbury and Mason Laskowski had multiple hit games in the opener in support of winner Frank Suga.

In the Inter-Ac League: HAVERFORD SCHOOL 8, PENN CHARTER 5 » Ian White fanned 11 and had two hits and one RBI in the completion of a suspended game. Mark Quatrani drove in two runs and Jake LaRocca put the Fords ahead with a two-out, two-strike, two-run single.

In the Central League: PENNCREST 3, MARPLE NEWTOWN 1» Michael Costello allowed three hits and struck out eight over six innings to get the win. Quinten Perilli (two hits), Christian Reed and Sean O’Donnell knocked in one run each.

Dillon Can had two hits and Bennett Cox one RBI for the Tigers.

RADNOR 12, HARRITON 5 » Seniors Austin Marx (3-for-4) and Pat Mannix (2-for-4) smacked two doubles each. Seniors Jude Walin and Jack Pachella both had triples while going 2-for-3. Will Reger allowed two hits in 4.2 innings to get the win.

STRATH HAVEN 1, SPRINGFIEL­D 0 » Mike Valentine scattered eight hits and stuck out five. Nick Corritore knocked in Valente with the only run in the first inning.

Cody Grande led the Cougars with two hits.

In the Catholic League:

CARDINAL O’HARA 10, CONWELL EGAN 0 » Pat Ahearn allowed one hit and struck out seven over six innings. Mark Zecca slugged a tworun homer and Brandon Fanelli and Paul Daly added two RBIs apiece. BONNER-PRENDERGAS­T 6, NEUMANN-GORETTI 2 » Joey DeMucci drove in three runs while going 3-for-4 with a double to help the Friars finish league play undefeated. Austin Carroll clubbed a home run and knocked in a pair. Jaxon Kehoe fanned five and allowed one hit in three innings to get the win.

Girls Lacrosse

Catie Parsells paired two goals with six draw controls and six ground balls to lead Agnes Irwin to a 13-3 victory over Notre Dame in the Inter-Ac League.

Catie Holmes tallied three times for the Owls. Mairyn Dwyer added two goals, two draw controls, one assist, one caused turnover and one ground ball.

Katie Onderdonk (one assist), Maeve Seeger and Aly Maguire had one goal each for the Irish.

In the Catholic League playoffs: LANSDALE CATHOLIC 14, BONNERPREN­DERGAST 12 » Leila George collected five goals, one assist, three ground balls and three draw controls but it wasn’t enough as the Pandas fell in the first round of the Catholic League playoffs. Abigail Blemngs also scored five times and had two ground balls and three draw controls.

Softball

Zoey Rogers doubled home a run in the first inning and scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball to lift Garnet Valley to a 3-1 victory over Conestoga in the Central League. Emily Orsini stroked two hits and Anna Sidlowski and Kelly Cornog combined to strike out 19 Pioneers. SPRINGFIEL­D 10, STRATH HAVEN 0 » Ally Heston was 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Ava Craddock plated a pair of runs and scored twice, while Skyler Poehner added two hits and one RBI. HARRITON 7, RADNOR 5 » Jemma Klein made a diving catch in center field to keep the Rams in front. Sydney Goldstein fanned 11 and Lucy Klein led the game off with a home run.

In the Inter-Ac League: EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 11, GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 10 » Senior Karen Xiao belted a two-run homer while going 2-for-3.

In nonleague action:

INTERBORO 10, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 9 »

Dani Linker slugged her fifth homer of the year and fanned five in four innings to get the win with relief help from Jill Gray (three innings, four Ks). Mare Nagle added two hits and three RBIs.
