EAST LANSDOWNE » Police are seeking a Yeadon man charged with attempted homicide and related offenses for allegedly shooting at a moving vehicle last week, striking the driver’s side door.

The shooting was captured on video surveillance and shows Tristan Armand Long firing at least once at a grey Dodge Charger as it traveled northbound on Melrose Avenue toward Pembroke Avenue June 21, according to an affidavit of probable cause for his arrest written by Police Officer Kevin P. Myers.

East Lansdowne and Upper Darby police were dispatched to the area of Baltimore Avenue and Melrose Avenue about 11:50 a.m. for a report of shots fired, the affidavit says. Myers found a live 9mm round and 9mm shell casing on Melrose next to the Lansdowne Deli, situated at the corner, according to the affidavit. Upper Darby police meanwhile located the Dodge and spoke with the driver, who was detained while police searched him and the car for a firearm, according to the affidavit. No injuries were reported, but Detective Sgt. James B. Cadden found an expended slug and placed it into evidence, the affidavit says.

Cadden also reviewed video surveillance from a nearby business that shows a man with long dreadlocks in a white shirt and black pants firing at least one shot in the direction of the Charger. The shooter and vehicle are both traveling northbound on Melrose in the video as the gunman raises his right hand and fires at the passing vehicle, the affidavit says.

The shooter then manipulates the slide of the firearm and raises him arm again, pointing the gun at the car, but it is unclear from the video whether he lets off another shot, according to the affidavit. The shooter then runs out of the frame northbound.

The driver told Myers he knows the man who shot at him as “Trizz” and showed him an image of “Trizz” on the driver’s Instagram account, according to the affidavit. “Trizz” had his own account and Cadden ran pictures from that account through facial recognition software, which came back with four hits on mugshots of Long in prior arrests, the affidavit says.

The driver was presented a photo array of eight people and identified Long as the man who had shot at him, according to the affidavit. Upper Darby Police were also consulted and provided a last known address for Long on the first block of Melrose Avenue.

Long is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and firearms offenses. The firearm has not been recovered and police are advising that Long should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call East Lansdowne Police at 610-2592308.
