Brinker Simpson announces new managing partner
SPRINGFIELD » Brinker Simpson & Company, a leading accounting and financial advisory firm in the Philadelphia region, announced this week that Michael W. Simpson, CPA, CVA, has been appointed to the position of Managing Partner, effective July 1. Michael becomes the Second Managing Partner, succeeding founder Robert Simpson, CPA, MST, who will remain a partner at the firm, focusing primarily on business development and client services while maintaining his strong civic and community involvement.
Having spent his entire career devoted to public accounting and being an active member of the Brinker Simpson management team, Michael built and maintained many longstanding relationships with clients over the years. Michael began his career at Brinker Simpson as an intern in 1993 and went fulltime in 1995 after graduating from La Salle University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
As a partner, Michael leads the firm’s business valuation and tax and business consulting services. He currently provides taxation and management consulting services for clients in various industries, including construction, commercial real estate, membership organizations, and professional services.
As managing partner, Michael will be responsible for the strategic planning, direction of the firm, sourcing opportunities for Brinker Simpson’s growth, and the quality of the practice. He will also focus on the development of the partners and professional
and administrative staff.
Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). He also serves as a board member for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Executive Board of Elementary Education.

Nolan Painting recognized as one of 50 most communityminded employers in Greater Philly region
The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia hosted by Philadelphia Foundation has announced 50 of the most community-minded organizations in the Tri-State area and Nolan Painting, Inc., based in Havertown, is among them. For over 40 years, Nolan Painting has provided full-service, professional interior and exterior painting to the Main Line and surrounding Philadelphia region, as well as stucco repair, drywall repair, wallpaper installation, color consulting and carpentry services.
The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia 2022 honorees is made up of both private and public companies and other employers operating in the Philadelphia region. They have been selected based on four dimensions of their community engagement program: Investment of resources; Integration across business functions; Institutionalization through policies and systems; and Impact measurement.
Since 2011, The Civic 50 has provided a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and has showcased how companies use their time, skills and other resources to drive social impact in their business and community.
“It is an honor to be recognized for helping accelerate positive change in the community where we live and work,” said CEO Kevin Nolan. “Supporting the community in which we serve is at the core of who we are,” said Nolan. “Since 2015, we have committed to giving $1 million to community-based organizations and nonprofits over a tenyear period. Our ‘Nolan in The Neighborhood’ community initiative focuses on education, environmental initiatives, health and fitness causes, and historical societies.”
Nolan Painting included in its survey submission one case study that identified its partnership with The American Red Cross where they host three blood drives annually together. A Red Cross representative works with Nolan every step of the way to helps make the drives successful. Nolan Painting hosted blood drives in January, May, and October. The drives are held in their conference room at their Havertown offices or at a nearby Church. The company started hosting blood drives over 10 years ago.

VBS registration opens at Immanuel Lutheran Church

Krueger announces $25,000 grant for Thunderbird Lodge
State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, announced the Rose Valley Centennial Foundation was awarded a $25,000 Keystone Historic Preservation Grant to make needed improvements at the historic Thunderbird Lodge. The grant, funded through the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, will help the Rose Valley Centennial Foundation identify solutions to the long-term needs of the lodge, including increased exhibition space, an ADAcompliant bathroom, mechanical systems, fire sup
pression, artifact storage and parking.
Thunderbird Lodge is among the ten most important early 20th century houses in America. It has been the home of the Rose Valley Museum since 2017.
Keystone Historic Preservation Grants provide funding to support projects that identify, preserve, promote and protect historic and archaeological resources in Pennsylvania for both the benefit of the public and the revitalization of communities.
