Arena helps Ridley 10U advance in Section tournament

-

Brian Arena took care of business with the bat and with his arm Thursday for Ridley Area Little League.

Arena’s RBI single put RALL ahead for good in the bottom of the fourth, and he added 3.2 innings to quiet down the Plymouth Little League bats in a 7-5 win in the Section 8 10U Little League tournament.

Ridley trailed 4-0 in the top of the first before Arena entered to quell the threat. That allowed time for the Ridley bats to rally. Connor Boon hit a sac fly, and Jake Teehan supplied an RBI single in the bottom of the second before Arena’s RBI single got them within 4-3. In the fourth, Arena’s RBI single put RALL up for good, and Reed Burgess added cushion with a two-run triple.

Vince Lanzetta allowed one run over the final two innings to seal the win. Ridley advances to Friday’s Section 8 championship game against Morrisville Little League. RALL needs to beat Morrisville twice, having lost to them, 2-0, earlier in the tournament.
