Police blotter: stolen cars, $50,000 in bitcoin stolen

Some themes continue, such as catalytic converter thefts

Haverford police report for the week ending Dec. 6:

Nov. 30

• 12:53 a.m.: motor vehicle thefts in the 700 block of Beechwood Drive.

• 9:57 a.m.: Attempted theft, 100 block of Fawn Lane. An unlocked vehicle was entered.

• 1:27 p.m.: retail theft at Kohl’s in the 200 block of West Chester Pike. An unknown female stole $1,126 in merchandis­e.

• 7:30 p.m.: Catalytic converter stolen from a vehicle at Eagle Tower Apartments in the 2300 block of East Darby Road.

• 10:03 p.m.: At P & W Station in the 600 block of Septa Line, a victim reported that he was assaulted by approximat­ely eight males when he got off the train. The actors stole his cellphone, credit card and keys.

Dec. 1

• 11:32 a.m.: At Lowe’s in the 100 block of West Township Line Road, a 46-year-old homeless man and a 46-year-old man from Brooklyn, N.Y., were arrested on charges of retail theft, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, forgery, tamper records and false identifica­tion to law enforcemen­t

• 12:53 p.m.: A resident in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.

• 5:22 p.m.: In the 1300 block of East Darby Road, a catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle.

Dec. 2

• 11:31 a.m.: In the 100 block of Strathmore Road, a resident reported that he observed an unknown male attempting to enter his vehicle. The actor fled when the car alarm activated.

• 8:36 p.m.: In the 300 block of Earlington Road, a resident reported multiple unauthoriz­ed purchases made with her credit card.

Dec. 3

• 10:21 a.m.: A vehicle was stolen in the 500 block of Woodland Drive.

• 11:24 a.m.: At the Verizon store in the 600 block of West Chester Pike, two males broke the top of the display table and stole two iPhones.

• 2:02 p.m.: In the 100 block of North Drexel Avenue, a resident reported he lost $599 in an online scam.

• 4:34 p.m.: In the 100 block of Lewis Road, a resident reported that his bitcoin valued at $50,000 was stolen off the crypto web.

• 4:48 p.m.: In the 500 block of Wales Road, a rear driver’s side window was broken.

Dec. 4

• 1:11 p.m.: The Oakmont School in the first block of East Eagle Road reported numerous acts of vandalism. The white vinyl fence, storage bin and flagstone pavers were damaged. A plaque was also removed from the bench.

• 10:52 p.m.: A 48-yearold homeless man was arrested in the 400 block of Kenmore Road for violation of order.

Dec. 5

• 2:12 a.m.: A 23-yearold woman from the 100 block of North Eagle Road was arrested in the block for violation of order.

• 12:42 p.m.: In the 100 block of Fawn Lane an unlocked vehicle was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

Dec. 6

• 11:07 a.m.: In the first block of East Eagle Road, a resident reported two unauthoriz­ed purchases made with her debit card.

• 12:20: p.m.: At the Staples store in the 1300 block of West Chester Pike, an unknown male stole a printer valued at $399.

• 12:22 p.m.: A resident reported that someone withdrew $850 for the victim’s bank account in the 1300 block of Robinson Avenue.

• 4:04 p.m.: At the Giant store in the 100 block of West Township Line Road, an unknown male placed $357 in health and beauty products in a cart and wheeled out of the store. A loss prevention officer approached the subject, and he returned the merchandis­e and ran off.

Police also reported 20 moving violations, 16 warnings, five nontraffic citations and 46 parking tickets issued for the week
