Penncrest student arrested with THC pen

Also, $17k in grande baroque silverware stolen

THC pen

Feb. 1: Troopers responded to Penncrest High School for a 15-year-old male caught with a suspected THC pen. Upon further investigat­ion the juvenile was arrested, taken to the Media station, processed and released to a responsibl­e party.

Theft

Dec. 13: A 60-year-old woman from Tucson, Arizona, arrived at the Media station to report a theft at a house along Wilmington Pike in Chadds Ford Township. Upon interviewi­ng the victim, it was learned that about $21,000 in household items were missing. Multiple moving companies were involved in transporta­tion of the items from July 1, 2021, to Dec. 13, 2022. Among the items stolen were $17,000 in grande baroque silverware and various barware. Also taken were spoons, flatware, golf art, lamps, paper towel holder, floor lamp, tools and an Elvis picture valued at $500.

Firearm arrest

Dec. 24: While conducting a security check of Wawa at Granite Run it was discovered that a parked 1997 Ford pickup truck had an operator who was actively wanted. He was arrested and a subsequent search yielded a rifle, a loaded rifle and a small amount of crystal methamphet­amine. The 36-year-old Collingdal­e man is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm.

DUI

Jan. 8: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on I-95south mile marker 9.3. The operator, a 39-year-old Chesterbro­ok man was found to be under the influence and arrested.

Drug possession

Jan. 8: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Wilmington Pike just north of Oakland Road in Chadds Ford Township on a white 2002 Ford pickup bearing temporary California plates. Upon further investigat­ion, the operator was arrested for DUI and passenger for drug possession. Arrested were Sheravan Coston, 44, and Keith Boone, 42, both of Brooklyn, New York. They were processed and released following arrest.

Theft by deception

Jan. 13: A 59-year-old from Sarum Drive in Concord found a credit card was fraudulent­ly opened in his name.

Stolen vehicle recovered

Jan. 20: Troopers came upon an unoccupied disabled vehicle at Exit 4on Interstate 95south in Chester. The 2014Jeep was reported as stolen by Oxford police, and towed from the scene.

DUI

Jan. 21: Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash of a 2017 Chevrolet Trax at Kirk rand Shavertown roads in Concord Township. Upon arrival the vehicle was unoccupied. The operator, a 24-year-old man, was identified and located at his residence. He

was determined to be driving under the influence and nd placed under arrest.

DUI

Jan. 25: Troopers were dispatched to 600 Evergreen Drive in Concord Township for a welfare check of a woman operating a white BMW. Approachin­g the area, troopers observed a BMW traveling without its taillights. A traffic stop was conducted and it was determined the operator, a 34-year-old Glen Mills woman, was driving under the influence of alcohol.

DUI on view drugs

Jan. 26: Troopers arrested Antwane Wilkerson, 49, and Shannon Henderson, 36, both of Wilmington, Delaware, on charges of possession of drug parapherna­lia and DUI for the operator in a parking lot in the 500 block of West Ridge Road in Lower Chichester Township. A 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was towed.

Firearms recovered

Feb. 2: Trooper was dispatched to Wilmington Pike for a report of a found firearms inside a safety box. The weapons were taken into custody and contact made with owner.

DUI

Feb. 2: Troopers initiated a traffic stop of a 2015Hyunda­i Sonata at Ring Road and Baltimore Pike. Through investigat­ive means it was determined the 22-year-old male driver from Rising Sun, Maryland was intoxicate­d.

Drugs

Feb. 3: Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2017 Nissan Altima on Interstate 95 South at mile marker

9.7 in Tinicum Township. The operator, a 35-yearold Philadelph­ia man, was found under the influence of a controlled substance and taken into custody. The operator denied consent to search the vehicle, but a warrant was secured and a search was conducted. Inside were 33grams of a white powder, 23 multicolor pills, bulk packaging and two scales. Charges are pending.

Crash

Feb. 5: Troopers responded to an accident on Route 322westbou­nd in Chester Township. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2017 Ford Fusion swerved to avoid a deer, and the car hit a pothole, which caused operator to lose control and hit a guide rail head on. There were no injuries. The 21-year-old operator from Bound Brook, New Jersey, was issued a citation for driving at an unsafe speed.

Drug possession

Feb. 6: Troopers conducted a traffic stop at Route 322 East south of Interstate 95in Chester Township on a purple Dodge Challenger for vehicle code violations. Upon further investigat­ion, the operator, a 22-year-old Collingdal­e woman was placed under arrest for DUI and drug possession.

Theft

Feb. 6: Troopers responded to the Wawa on Naamens Creek Road for a reported retail theft. Three males entered store and stole $80of merchandis­e before fleeing in a dark colored sedan.
