Rayer’s timely trey boosts Fords

Billy Rayer’s 3-point basket as time expired in regulation lifted The Haverford School to a 58-56 win over Pennington in a nonleague boys basketball game Wednesday.

Luke Rasmussen scored a game-high 17 points for the Fords. Duke Cloran added 14 points and Rayer finished with 11.

Girls Basketball

Ja’Mya Muhammad, Shyne Hall and Imani Dorsey combined for all of Chester’s offense in a 70-36 Del Val League win against Chichester.

Muhammad scored a career-high 25 points to go with 16 rebounds, Hall registered 24 points and 10 assists, and Dorsey racked up 21 points and 10 steals for the Clippers (10-10).

In nonleague action:

MERION MERCY 53, SACRED HEART 35 » Megan Donahue paced the Lions with 12 points, three assists and three steals. Maddie Campbell chipped in with seven points.

Wrestling

Matt Mesaros’s win by decision in the 152-pound match secured Garnet Valley’s 33-30 win over Ridley Wednesday.

Nolan Carroll (120), Ethan Bliss (132) and Paxton Hunt (138) were victorious by pin fall for the Jaguars. Joe Marino (126) and Dylan Bledsoe (285) both earned decisions.

David Rainey (160), Luke Palladino (172), Claudel Pierre-Louis (189) and Curtis Nelson (113) all won by pin for the Green Raiders.
