Theft by deception
Jan. 3, 12:30 a.m.: Troopers were dispatched to Maris Grove in Concord Township for the report of a theft. It was discovered the victim, an 85-year-old, was scammed out of $10,000 in various denominations.
Goose in the road
Jan. 4, 12:01p.m.: Interstate 95 north at mile marker 8.6a 2019 Nissan Rogue was traveling in the center lane and swerved to avoid a goose on the roadway.
The operator lost control and the vehicle struck the concrete barrier. There were no injuries to the driver or a child passenger. There was a deceased goose in the center lane.
Retail theft
Jan. 9, 5:47 p.m.: At the AT&T store at 1700block of Wilmington Pike, a female left the store with two Apple iphone 14Pro cellphones without paying. The loss is estimated at $2,100.
Theft by deception
Jan. 14, 3 p.m.: On Concord Road in Concord Township, someone used the identity of a Garnet Valley man to open accounts with TD Bank and T-Mobile.
Burglary
Jan. 18, 9:32 a.m.: Troopers were contacted by Professional Plumbing Group for the report of two males going through the dumpster of the business and taking what appeared to be scrap metal. They additionally attempted to break into the locked shed located near the dumpster.
DUI
Jan. 27, 10:32 p.m.: The driver of a 2000Geo Prizm was observed violating multiple traffic laws. A stop was occurred and the driver, Daniqua Tolson, 39, of Severna Park, Maryland, was deemed to be under the influence.
DUI
Jan. 28, 11:27 p.m.: State police responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Media Bypass north at mile marker 38.8. The 22 yearold-male driver of a 2017 Toyota Corolla from Media was arrested for driving under the influence.
Vehicle theft
Dec. 22, 2:30 p.m.: PSP was contacted about a vehicle theft of a 2015 red Ford Fusion from the Plaza at Chadds Ford parking lot. The vehicle was subsequently located at a body shop in Delaware.
Trooper’s car struck
Feb. 7: 5:53 p.m.: State Police
Unit K243was struck as it turned northbound on State Route 1. A 2019GMC Terrain was traveling south and attempted to turn left onto Donovan Drive and made an unsafe turn and hit the state police vehicle, which was approaching the intersection. All occupants were treated on scene and sought further medical treatment at local hospitals.
Accident with DUI
Feb. 10, 9:45p.m.: Interstate 476 exit 1towards MacDade Boulevard a 1994 Harley Davidson Dyna-Glide collided with a 2019Chevrolet Equinox. The 66-year-old driver of the motorcycle from Lindwood suffered serious injury and was transported to Crozer Chester, and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance. No injuries to the other driver.
Bar code caper
Feb. 10, 2:45p.m.: At Costco in the 700 block of Evergreen Drive in Concord Township, troopers were called for the report of a retail theft in progress. Troopers waited for the man to exit the store.
Once Taso Solanakis, 57, of West Chester exited the store Troopers discovered two LG televisions valued at $950 each and replaced with barcodes valued at $370. He was placed under arrest.
Nuisance citation
Feb. 11, 8:21 a.m.: State police responded to the 600 block of North Heilbron Drive in Middletown Township for a report of an activated alarm. It was determined to be false and as a result of 3or more false alarms in a 12-month period, a citation was filed in district court on the 70-year-old male homeowner.
