The Delaware County Health Department:
invites residents to a free hands-only CPR training opportunity. On Friday, Feb. 24, Keystone First, Delaware County Citizen Corps, and the Delaware County Health Department will offer two free Hands-Only CPR classes at the Keystone
First Wellness and Opportunity Center, 1929W. Ninth St., Chester, from 11a.m. to noon and 2-3 p.m. Spanish language instructors will be on hand. The Delaware County Intermediate Unit:
is offering a free workshop to help parents better navigate the often-challenging roadmap of educating their children with disabilities or learning challenges who may need extra help. The workshop entitled The Hidden Curriculum and Social Skills will be offered Thursday, March 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required by 4 p.m. Monday, March 6. The Media-Upper Providence Free Library Book Sale: is soliciting donations for the spring sale, April 15-17, at the library. The library is accepting books, games, puzzles, CDs and DVDs. The drop-off location is at the library, 1E. Front St., Media, in the specially marked bins to the left of the main entrance on Jackson Street. Donations may be left 24hours a day, seven days a week. Poor Man’s Gambit:
an Irish-American trio, will perform a free concert on Sunday, March 5 at 3 p.m. at the Lima United Methodist Church, 209 N. Middletown Road, Middletown Township. The trio has released three albums and has completed two international tours. Instruments feature fiddle, button accordion, guitar, bodhran, bouzouki, vocals and dance. have announced their next speaker in the Revolutionary Speaker Series at Brandywine Battlefield Park for Saturday, Feb. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. Archaeologist Wade Catts will give an illustrated lecture on the current national and regional efforts for investigating and safeguarding Revolutionary War battlefields and military sites. Senior Community Services Center Without Walls:
will offer an eight-week class in oil painting Fridays from March 3 through May 5 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Concord Senior Center, 817 Concord Road, Glen Mills.The class, which is for painters of all levels, will help guide participants through various skills and techniques, working with color, light, shape, texture and more.
