Blotter: Vicious dogs, $1,000 in Polo clothing stolen
The latest weekly reports from the Springfield Township police:
Feb. 20
Vicious dog: Officers investigated a dog bite incident at Netherwood Park in which a resident walking his dog was attacked by two dogs near the baseball field at 11:10 a.m. The two dogs, a Doberman and pitbull and their owner, a 21-year-old woman from Secane, were identified a few days later. The owner will be charged with harboring a vicious dog and other township ordinance violations.
DUI: Officers responded to the 1000 block Westwood Drive at 8 p.m. for a report of a suspicious person on a property. Investigation revealed that a vehicle struck a parked car on the block. The striking vehicle sustained a broken wheel and the operator drove into a driveway, scraping the ground. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. The 50-yearold man from Boothwyn submitted to a blood test and was later released. Charges for DUI will be filed.
Feb. 21
Retail theft: Best Buy in the 600 block Baltimore Pike reported two subjects had stolen an Xbox controller and a speaker, and left the store. Responding officers located the suspects inside a vehicle in the motel lot next door and recovered the stolen merchandise. Sarah Nock, 36, and Michael Cosme, 35, both from New Castle, Delaware, were charged.
Feb. 22
Retail theft: At 1 p.m. security personnel at Target in the 800 block Baltimore Pike reported a male subject in their custody after they observed him steal over $240 in electronics, sporting goods and food. Delsean Graham, 31, Philadelphia, was taken into custody, charged with retail theft and released.
Feb. 25
Vandalism: A vehicle window was smashed in the parking lot of Springfield Mall while the owner shopped inside the mall between 6:40 and 7:20 p.m. Nothing was taken.
Vandalism: Two subjects damaged the infant changing table in the bathroom at Slacks Hoagie Shack in the 100 block of Baltimore Pike at 7:36 p.m., and ran out of the area.
Retail theft: Macy’s security at the mall reported a male subject who had concealed over $1,000 on Polo clothing and fled the store at 7:39 p.m. The male was apprehended in the parking lot and taken into custody. The 39-year-old from Wilmington, Delaware, will be charged with retail theft.
Feb. 26
Retail theft: Shuanita McCoy, 39, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft after Macy’s security at the mall spotted her stealing close to $500 in clothing. She was taken into custody at 6:15 p.m., arraigned and released on bail.
