4 public open houses set for sustainability plan
The Delaware County Office of Sustainability continues to work to set innovative goals and impactful actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and set Delaware County on a path to a more sustainable future.
Over the past eight months, the Office of Sustainability has been working with community advocates, partners, and experts to identify needs and define actions along six areas of focus: natural resources, energy and efficiencies, transportation, zero waste, climate resiliency, and health and wellness.
The county wants to hear from residents. There will be four open houses — three in-person and one virtual — to gather feedback from the community about the goals, targets, and actions that have been drafted.
Attendees will hear a short presentation about the planning process will have the opportunity to view displays and materials regarding the six focus areas, and will be invited to provide their ideas, concerns, and suggestions to help shape the final version of the Sustainability Plan.
The meetings are 6 to 8 p.m. on these dates:
• Wednesday, March 26 at the Upper Darby Township building, 100 Garrett Road.
• Tuesday, April 4, Chester City Community Room, 1 Fourth St.
• Thursday, April 6, Media Community Center, 301 N. Jackson St.
• Monday, April 10, virtual. To register for the virtual session: delcopa.gov/ VirtualOpenHouse.
