Lower Merion police are investigating at least four burglaries over the past week, including two where the suspects ran off after finding someone home.

One of the latest burglaries took place at a home on the 1000 block of Rock Creek Road on May 20.

At about 9:38 p.m., a resident on the third floor spotted a male entering a bedroom and then quickly fled. Multiple other people could also be heard inside the residence before they also ran in an unknown direction.

Police said multiple bedrooms on the second floor were ransacked. It was not known what was taken at the time of the report.

Two other burglaries were also reported on May 19, with one reported about 30 minutes after the first.

Police said on May 19, a property manager at a home on Merion Square Road discovered force to a window in the library after a security alarm sounded. The suspects appeared not to have entered the residence past the library before leaving. There was no known loss at the time the report was made.

About 30 minutes later, a resident on the 900 block of Rock Creek Road heard a noise coming from a secondfloor bedroom window where someone was attempting to rip open a screen. Several people were seen fleeing the area.

Other burglaries in the township occurred May 22, when one was reported at a vacant home in Belmont Hills. According to police, someone entered the home and removed copper pipes, a boiler and a hot water heater.

In Ardmore, a broken doorknob was found on the rear door of a home on the 100 block of Simpson Road on May 18.
