Power’s 20 points enough for Nazareth to beat Agnes Irwin

Agnes Irwin lost its first game in an overtime thriller to Nazareth Academy Tuesday.

Reese Power scored 20 points and Abby Rock helped out with 13 as Nazareth held on for a 47-46 OT conquest.

For AIS, Simone Harvey had 17 points, complete with four 3-pointers, and five rebounds. Gabrielle Seibert had 12 points and six rebounds and Milan Harvey added six points.

The Green Raiders couldn’t contain the Cougars’ Charlotte Aldridge, who knocked down 27 points. Downingtow­n East also got 14 points from Chloe Hunold.

Ridley was Kyla Carney’s 12-point effort, while Taylor Marsich added 11 points and Nikki McMenamin chipped in 10.

The Vanguards led start to finish behind sophomore Luci D’Amico (18 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals).

Junior Brielle Wright scored nine points and collected four rebounds and dished out three assists. Anaka Boyd-Voltz and Alison Riley tallied eight points each.

Blayse Jennings scored 14 points and Nyah Yao registered 13 as the Raptors held off the Vikings for the win.

Jennings had a steal to help seal the win. Kate Gallagher added nine point for Radnor while Anna Reger and Caroline Monahan had eight apiece.

Boys Basketball

Point guard Jadyn Gaskins registered 16 points and senior guard Max Seltzer added 15 to help lead the Harriton boys basketball team to a 49-20 victory over Interboro in a nonleague game Tuesday night.

For the Bucs, Josh Lloyd scored 15 of his team’s 20 points.

Chester Charter suffered its first loss of the season. The Sabers were led by Brean Rudd-Cook (11 points) and Ja’Bryl Bennett (nine points). FRIENDS CENTRAL 68, HAVERFORD SCHOOL 65 » KJ Carson brought the Fords (1-2) into a tie with 22 seconds left with a deep 3-pointer at 65-all, but FC’s Patrese Feamster then returned the favor for the win just prior to the final buzzer.

Wrestling

Mac Tryon (126), Matt Hoban (138 pounds), Ian Thomas (144), and Luke Holgate (150) all won by fall as Haverford School decisioned Westtown, 38-30.

The Fords also received wins by Cole Lisowski (7-1 decision at 157), Gabe Danisi (by fall at 165), Quinn Sullivan (by fall at 190) and heavyweigh­t Brennan Apple (by fall in 1:39).
