D. Elaine Hatton (nee Green)

D. Elaine Hatton (nee Green), 90, of Media, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

She was the loving wife of the late Horace Robert Hatton.

Born May 16, 1933 in Havertown, Elaine was a daughter of the late Joseph William, II and Dorothy (Deans) Green. She graduated from Marple Newtown High School in 1950.After two years at Drexel College, Elaine graduated with a Secretarial Degree. She began as an administrative assistant to the Vice President of Boeing Vertol in Ridley Park, PA. Later, she worked for the Association of Christian School International in Newtown Square, PA and then lastly, with InFaith Mission in Villanova, PA before retiring.

Elaine was an active member of First Baptist Church of Newtown Square where she served by teaching Sunday School, Children’s Church and Vacation Bible School. In later years, she attended Church of the Savior in Wayne, PA where she served with the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Ministry.

Elaine loved reading the Delaware County Times, doing Wonder Word puzzles, listening to Phillies baseball on the radio and chocolate candy. Above all else, she was a woman of faith, family and love who punctuated her conversations to family with “I prayed for you today and I love you.”

Surviving are her three children; Bruce Hatton of Media, Karen (Hatton) Maffet and her husband, Chris of Havertown and Scott Hatton and his wife, Sandra of Media; five grandchildren, Cory, Jessica and Matthew Hatton, Daniel Maffet and Esther Maffet Heinz and her husband, David and great grandchildren, Kylie and Colton Hatton.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Horace; Elaine is predeceased by two brothers, J. William, III and John “Jack” Green.

Services for Elaine are private and at the convenience of the family. Logan-Videon Funeral Home, Broomall is assisting the family in their time of grief.
