Garnet Valley’s Adamski hits 1,000-point milestone in win

Garnet Valley junior Haylie Adamski scored her 1,000th career point in a 54-33 victory over Radnor Thursday.

The All-Delco scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Jaguars (82). Kylie Mulholland totaled nine points, five rebounds and four assists. Addie Adamski and Kylie Adamski, Haylie’s younger sisters, added seven and six points, respective­ly.

Caroline Monahan netted a team-high 13 points for the Raptors (8-2).

Cameron Ross’ clutch free-throw shooting helped the Royals (5-6) pull out an exciting win.

Ross made two freebies in the fourth quarter and finished with 14 points. Mia Wilson led all players with 21 points and had eight assists and four steals for the Royals, who stormed back from a three-point deficit after three periods.

“This is a big win for our girls as we had to fight back against a very talented team. We left too many free throws off the scoreboard … but we did enough little things to gut this one out,” UD coach Nick Libero said. “We are a young team that is starting to believe in themselves. We still have a lot of work to do, but our goal is to get better with each game. Tonight’s game was a big step in the right direction”

Nyla Bent had five of her nine points in the fourth period for UD. Senior captain Sage Walters added four points, 10 rebounds and four steals.

Addison Levenston paced

Harriton with 20 points. HAVERFORD 47, MARPLE NEWTOWN 25 » Natalie Wright scored her team’s first eight points of the second half as the Fords (9-1) built upon a seven-point halftime advantage.

Rian Dotsey produced 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Fords, who have won eight straight. Ashley Wright accumulate­d 12 points and Natalie Wright finished with 10.

Rowan Hilden had points for the Tigers.

Kat Harding powered the Lions (7-2) to their fifth straight win with a gamehigh 16 points. Bailey Garrison contribute­d nine points, and Alex Bruce ended with eight.

Nora Novotni and Alison Riley each scored a career-high 13 points for the Vanguards, who outscored the visiting Knights, 34-16, in the second half.

Anaka Boyd-Boyd had a personal best with 12 points and Brielle Wright pitched in with 11.

Ashati Harris and Melina Mxaku paced the Knights with 12 points apiece.

Kaylinn Bethea led the way with 18 points, six rebounds, six steals and four assists as the two-time defending Inter-Ac champions opened league play with a rout of the Churchwome­n.

Bella Notaro made three 3-pointers and finished with nine points for EA.

Boys Swimming

Chichester’s Mateo Torres, Josh Parag, Zairus Silverio and Danny Kelly were the top swimmers during the Eagles’ 85-48 win over Interboro Wednesday.

Torres was a triple winner in the 200 free, 200 free relay and 100 back. Parag triumphed in the individual medley and helped the Eagles’ 200 medley relay to a first-place finish. Silverio was part of four victories (medley relay, 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay). Kelly took first place in the 500 free and was a member of the 200 free relay.

For the Bucs, Kylie Arnot, the reigning PIAA Class 2A diving champion, dominated with a score of 243.45. Jim Toland was a triple winner in the 100 fly, 100 breast & 400 free relay.

Girls Swimming

Interboro’s relay units put forth three strong races Wednesday in the Bucs’ 11851 win over Del Val League foe Chichester.

Marin Daniels, Marianna Nagle, Kaylie Ford and Alexis Mireider won the 200 medley relay in 2:18.00. Nagle and Mireider swam the second half of the winning 200 free relay (2:02.85) alongside Erin Keeney and Aubrey Kauffman. Daniels joined Ford, Nagle and Mireider in the 400 free relay, which claimed first place in 4:52.61.

Fords (200 IM), Kenney (50 free), Kauffman (diving), Mireider (100 free), Daniels (100 back) and Ava Nagle (100 breast) all won individual races for the Bucs.

Angie DeVitis accounted for both Chichester wins in the 200 free and 500 free.

Wrestling

Ridley’s Curtis Nelson and Springfiel­d’s Taylor Rush are two of the best 121-pound wrestlers in District 1.

But Nelson is the reigning Daily Times Wrestler of the Year for a reason. The junior bested the sophomore Rush by technical fall (35-17) in a grueling 5:30 as Ridley defeated Springfiel­d, 48-12, in Central League action Wednesday evening. Nelson improved to 16-0 on the season, and Rush fell to 8-2.

Nick Dellarocca (139) and Nostradoma­s Raeder (160) both won by major decision and Chris Nesbitt (145) won by technical fall for the

Green Raiders. Tom Wickman (152), Luke Palladino (189) and Corey Hanna (114) each recorded pins.

Tommy Rush won by fall in the 172-pound match for the Cougars.

Ryan Vance (133), Noah Carroll (139), Jacob Dadario (145), Griffin Hays (215) and Dylan Bledsoe (285) racked up pins as the Jaguars crushed the Raptors.

Jack Galloway triumphed via pin fall in 2:51 in the 107-pound bout for the Lions. Chase Worley won

by technical fall, 18-2, at 121. Shane Worley (127), Andrew Bostwick (139), Chris Bruette (172) and Noah Reed (189) all won by decision.

In the Ches-Mont League:

The Vanguards were aided by five wins via forfeit victories in their first league dual meet of the season.

William Cadden (160) and Alex Alvarez (189) both won by major decision. Brandon Carr registered a decision at 172 and Peter Fox decisioned Julia Jurado Romero, 1-0, in a slugfest at 215.
