Sheppleman shepherds Ridley to walk-off win

Ridley’s McKenzie Sheppleman had the biggest hit of her young career Friday afternoon.

The freshman smashed an RBI double to center field in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Green Raiders to a 4-3 victory over Cardinal O’Hara. Sheppleman finished with a pair of two-baggers.

Mackenzie Fagan went 2-for-5 with a double and Caitlyn Senkow smacked two singles and knocked in a run. Lilly Marsh was the winning pitcher.

O’Hara ace Hayden Sissons recorded 14 strikeouts and allowed no earned runs in the loss. Lorelei Brothersto­m went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Lions.

In the Del Val League:

Vanessa Harrity set the tone with a first-inning grand slam. Sarah Smith pitched a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts for the Bucs, who haven’t lost a Del Val game since the 2019 season.

In the Ches-Mont League: SUN VALLEY 11, GREAT VALLEY 6 » Winning pitcher Layla Murphy collected four hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs. Devin Warner (four RBIs) and Ally Sheppard (four runs scored) added three hits apiece for the Vanguards.

In the Central League:

Ava Craddock powered the Cougars with a homer, double, single, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Winning pitcher Payton Feeney went 3-for-4 with two ribbies. Kayla Frye homered and drove in four runs, while Ryleigh Frye went 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Lily Harrison-Parramore tripled for the Lions.

Baseball

Zach Murray recorded three hits and three RBIs to help Chichester defeat Interboro, 128, in Del Val League action.

Gavin Derrickson had a double and three RBIs for the Eagles. Cole Sanford earned the win on the mound and helped himself with a double and an RBI.

Vinnie Milbert went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for the Bucs.

CHESTER 14, PENN WOOD 1 » Brandon Colon hurled a complete game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts as the Clippers routed the Patriots. At the plate Colon went 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and four runs scored. Marcus Benson finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

In nonleague games:

BONNER & PRENDERGAS­T 12, APPOQUINIM­INK 9 » Jaxon Kehoe (double) and Austin Cannon (triple) each had three base knocks for the Friars. Michael Coleman went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Harry Carr notched a hit and three RBIs.

Ryan Friel added two hits and a pair of ribbies. Rocco Calise registered 12 strikeouts and gave up no earned runs in 6.1 innings.

HAVERFORD 3, W.C. HENDERSON 3 » The Fords and Warriors played to a seven-inning tie. Owen Fleishauer (2-for-3) stroked a run-scoring triple for the Fords. Starting pitcher Jack Raech scattered three runs (two runs) on four hits and struck out five in four innings of work.

Boys Tennis

Strath Haven triumphed 7-0 over Ridley in Central League competitio­n.

Mark Ball and Gabriel Ball posted 6-1, 6-1 wins at first and second singles, respective­ly. Ted Dudley was victorious 6-1, 6-3 in the third match.
