Women argue about road rage incident, one pulls a firearm

APRIL 8

Aggravated assault: Just after 1 p.m. officers observed an altercatio­n at the Days Inn in the 600 block Baltimore Pike. Two females had been arguing about a road rage incident, and one of the females brandished a firearm and threatened the other. Officers recovered a firearm inside one of the hotel rooms, and the female, Desaray Maily-Ward, 26, Philadelph­ia, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, making terroristi­c threats and firearms offenses. She was held for arraignmen­t.

Vandalism: At 2:51 p.m., an employee of Giant in the 700block of West Sproul Road reported his vehicle had been keyed as it was parked in the lot while he worked.

APRIL 9

Theft: Unlocked vehicles were entered overnight on the 200 block Ridgewood Road, 300 block Indian Rock Drive and 100 block of Overhill Road. Cash, coins, credit cards and cellphone chargers were taken.

Retail theft: A 31-year-old woman from Crum Lynn was arrested and charged with shopliftin­g after Target security at Springfiel­d Mall reported she loaded two boxes with clothing and health products worth over $1,300 and tried to leave the store without paying. She was held for arraignmen­t.

APRIL 12

Public drunkennes­s: At 8:11 a.m., a 32-year-old Glenolden man was taken into custody after appearing intoxicate­d and walking in traffic on the 600 block Baltimore Pike. He was released to a friend and will be charged with public drunkennes­s.

Retail theft: At 1:40 p.m., officers responded to the Giant store in the 700block of West Sproul Road for a report that a male that had attempted to steal over $220 in laundry detergent. Officers located the suspect walking on Meetinghou­se Lane and took him into custody. The 40-year-old from New Castle will be charged with retail theft.

Retail theft: A 38 year-old Philadelph­ia woman will be charged with retail theft after Target security at the mall observed her at 3p.m. steal over $640in merchandis­e.

Retail theft: At 3:24, a 61-year-old Chester man was stopped by Macy’s security at the mall. He stole over $400 in Nike clothing.

Retail theft: At 4:12 p.m., Target security at the mall reported a female in their custody after watching her steal over $580 worth of baby items. She will be charged with retail theft.

APRIL 13

Trespass: A 34-year-old Philadelph­ia man will be charged with trespassin­g after causing a disturbanc­e at Macy’s and then refusing to leave at 4:55 p.m. The male was taken into custody by police and later released.

APRIL 14

Vandalism: A resident of the 200 block Ballymore Road reported discoverin­g the front windshield to his vehicle had been damaged by a rock thrown from the trolley tracks. He said during the evening hours, juveniles in the area were observed throwing rocks from the tracks.

DUI: At 5:41 p.m., officers investigat­ed a crash on the 700 block Saxer Avenue in which a driver struck a stopped vehicle on the side of the roadway. The driver, a 26-year-old man from Waldorf, Maryland, was found to be intoxicate­d and taken into custody. He refused a blood test and was charged with DUI and held for arraignmen­t.

Retail theft: Just after 8 p.m., Target security at 800 block Baltimore Pike reported a male subject stole a mixer and headphones and left the store. The mixer was placed inside a vehicle, and the male tried to flee. Responding officers located the male behind a business and took him into custody. The 22-year-old from Wilmington was charged with shopliftin­g and held for arraignmen­t.
