VOLUNTEER HOURS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Dayton-based employees provided over 10,000 volunteer hours in company time.
LexisNexis strives to make a difference for their local and global communities through the LexisNexis Cares Program, which is one facet of the company’s larger global Corporate Responsibility efforts for both LexisNexis and its parent company RELX Group.
LexisNexis Cares supports employee and corporate engagement that makes a positive impact on society through volunteering and giving. They believe their greatest contribution to the local community is to empower employees to make a difference in others’ lives. The RE Cares program is made effective by a global network of Cares Champions, all volunteers, which totaled 210 employees in 2015.
The two core components of LexisNexis Cares are: (1) Cares Days, which provides all employees two days’ paid leave annually for volunteer work of their own choosing and two additional days for pro bono volunteerism; and (2) Matching gift program, where employee charitable donations are matched up to $1,000 per employee annually.
LexisNexis believes the Cares program is the best way to provide a broad range of support to the community and focus on what is important to their employees and communities. Globally in 2015, over 11,000 employees were engaged in volunteering through RE Cares.
Each year global community involvement is emphasized with RE Cares Month in September. Thousands of employees around the globe plan and participate in creative volunteering and fundraising efforts throughout the month.
For making a difference in the community, LexisNexis Cares has been selected as a Dragons Community All-Star. The program honors those that have gone above and beyond to improve the quality of life in the Miami Valley.
The Dragons Community All-Stars Program is made possible by the generous support of Vectren. For more information or to nominate an All-Star in your life, visit daytondragons.com/communityallstar.
